Hello everybody! I am currently cycling my new 55 gal reef aquarium. The tank has been up and running since 1/2/19. I will be posting updates as the tank progresses.

Feel free to comment, give feedback, ask questions,etc.

I will update the equipment and livestock as needed.

•3 Trochus snails
•6 Nassarius snails
•10 Blue legged hermits
•2 Black Ocellaris
•1 Foxface Rabbitfish

Equipment:
•DIY 29 gal sump with refugium
•Reef Octopus 110 classic protein slimmer
•Eshopps 1000 hob overflow
•Duetto dual sensor ATO
•2 bulb t8 fixture along with marineland led strip light (looking to upgrade lighting in the near future)
•Green Killing Machine 24w uv sterilizer

Corals:
•Multiple Kenya trees
•3 Candy canes frags

Can’t complain; Pulls out some nice, dark skimmate and it’s small enough to fit in my sump

Any suggestions on getting a snail out of a power head? lol

Pretty sure it’s still alive. Also, the power head is no longer working, not really sure whether the snail or the power surge we had earlier caused it

Those powerheads work well! I've had them.

I’m thinking the same thing. The snail made it out but the powerhead is still not working

some times something will block the blades stick a finger in there and it will dislodge it. Ive had that happen before.

I have always wondered why those cages are not done with small squares like craft canvas.
