BTA stuck in filter!

Leave him he can attach to the side. He looks like he wants to live so id give him time to heal and in the meantime find a way to cover your pumps and filters.

Covered the filter this morning and put her back under a rock ledge. She's laying in the sand less inflated than at night. Hope I didn't waste her energy leaving in fry box. She was not attached in the morning.

Other corals look stressed. I added prime and stresszyme yesterday. I did a 25% water change. Maybe should do more

My BTA went through an MP10. It looked worse than yours, kept it in a low flow spot and would baste it every now and again if I noticed the white ooze. It stayed closed for about month and finally opened but was super pale. It has been open up for about three weeks now and is slowly regaining its color.

I'm glad to see that it's alive, it'll take time for it to recover, mine split and it took 2-3months for a full recovery, now both pieces are the same size as they were 5months ago when i got the one :)
Thanks! That's something to look forward to! Two floating menaces.... lol. Did yours settle down after its near death experience?

Kind of? One half always chills in the bottom right corner & always hosts my oscellaris, the other chilled near that half but recently moved to a spot right in the middle of the tank, under my montipora.

They generally avoid my powerheads though, so I guess I'm lucky :)

Mine split because of a torn foot (it got stuck in a small crevace in my canister filters lid.

The one in the middle of the tank is far lighter in colour, than the one in the bottom right because it gets a lot of light it's amazing to see the difference in colour even tho they used to be the same animal

I had the same thing happen to a BTA with a hang on filter in a QT tank about 8-9 months ago. It was so badly damaged it finally came off the filter in two pieces. Thought it was a goner for sure. I turned the flow way down, wedged them in some Live Rock and they both survived and are doing great in my 90 gallon DT. Hang in there

I'm wondering if it's trying to split now... It's been shedding white a lot and shrunk down completely, then now it has some kind of dent separation. All today

Man this just happened to me. *** into the filter. Well it looked as bad as yours but I cut the filter pipe off and all the tiny pieces to try and save him. I acted fast but now I have to order a new part. All good. Hopefully it pulls through. I was gone maybe 1.5hrs and only had it in my tank maybe 2hrs *** and I got 3 of them. I hope mine survives aswell. POWERHEADS ARE OFF BTW AND WAITING ON COVERS ASWELL
