Bubble magus curve HELP

ive found that pretty much all bubble magus in sump skimmers really like to run in about 9.5 inches or so of water to work most efficient which is usually a pain to achieve in most sumps.

That looks to me like the skimmer is just removing the foamiest of the stuff from the water. I'm guessing after a while it'll settle in nicely once the water is stripped of whatever is forming such a stable foam.

And oh yeah, my 8in Bm skimmer goes crazy with new filter socks if I don't prewash them with a couple old ones before using them the first time... residue on the material the socks are woven from.

What do I do with this drain plug? I notice some people have it shorter, others longer. Is it supposed to be out of the water? I feel if I leave it like this it will be in the water. Do I cut it??

The drain is a great feature on this skimmer. It easily allows you to drain the skimmate from the cup into a much larger container. This way you do not have to clean the cup as often. That is how I use mine.

+1
I cut mine a little shorter but am still able to use it to drain skimmate which is great if you dont feel like taking the cup out to wash and drain it.
