Your tank should be well established before adding an Anemone. How old is your tank?

I have heard and read numerous times that it’s recommended you wait 6-8 months. This is obviously not a concrete number. Sorry man, what did the LFS say?

they said give it 2 days, what i find odd is that it'll bubble back up in a few hours. it has only dispensed waste so far and none of the slime (zooxanthellae) yet.

Keep observing and hopefully it works out for you. I know you are not supposed to feed it for awhile until it gets settled in. Will your LFS take the nem back if your tank cannot support it? 2 days then what? Lol

3 months isnt long enough, your params are swinging some still. What is PO4?

the day i bought it my LFS tested my water for PO4 and it came back zero. but this lil guy has been crapping a storm so i know it might of risen. but only since it was introduced to the tank. also yesterday i did a 50% water change to see if it could help it out.

i haven't feed it yet, i was waiting till sat or sun to feed it.

You must provide reef type lighting and very stable waters, he will move likely to a spot where he feels comfortable.
Feeding is really not required, it is best that the nem gets virtually all its nutritional needs from using the light.
Medium flow is necessary

I seen 100’s of these die jammed with being fed too much and too frequently.

Do not feed him!
This is simply crap
Once a month, a fingernail piece of raw shrimp
Leave him alone and never touch him again
He must adjust his zoo to available light

yes i didnt feed him yet, took this pic yesterday. he deflates for a few hours then reflates but doesnt have his bubble tips. then in the morning his bubble tips come back. i was very amazed how quick my frostbite clown and and the anemone hosted. thanks for the info.

i have a prime 16hd reef light so i am good on lighting and i havent feed him. i did move one of my fans closer to his area and it seems to have helped it more. also now that the anemone and my clown hosted im sure it will help more. yesterday when he deflated the clown was working hard to take all his crap out.

Is it possibly adjusting to the clowns hosting it? My last nem did this as well when I first got it but eventually settled in and stopped doing that.

Off topic a bit but I have a BTA that keeps splitting and I can’t even give them away. Going to put in my nano that’s <3 months old and see if it thrives. IME, BTAs are pretty easy. With good lighting and stable parameters, they’re not hard. To the OP, I hope you have good lighting. If so, make sure your ATO works properly as salinity swings will make every parameter swing which stresses them out.
