Bulkhead Leaking

I’m not sure exactly what you mean by the second part but there are two holes drilled in a corner overflow. We couldn’t get a big enough wrench, but channel locks did the trick.

Just stuff people have done that mess up their "plan" of how thing would go. Like how water dripped on your controller. You learned the hard way that anything electrical needs to mounted as far away from any potential sources of water, and off the bottom the cabinet it is in.

I was reading through the thread and thinking, "i thought only I was dumb enough to something like that".

The controller is mounted up on the wall actually. Unfortunately the water just dripped at the right angle to hit it. I figured it was far enough away but I was wrong

Oh man try to get it dry, and try to catch any more water that is leaking in something evan a plastic bag will work

Yeah we unplugged it and cleaned it out with something meant for cleaning electronics. By the time we got to it part of the metal ports for the probes was already corroded but the spray has stopped it from progressing any further. I’m thinking let it dry until tomorrow and then plug it in outside to test it just in case it catches fire it will be much easier to contain. But hopefully it will work just fine lol

Ok, that's just some seriously bad luck!!

Don't plug it back in until you clean it a good contact cleaner will do it most won't harm plastics but some do, the salt will conduct electricity, Good Luck

Look on the bright side. At least you didn't burn your parents house down or get electrocuted.

Also you should always use drip loops.

I do use drip loops. The water leaked from the bulkhead directly into a port for the temperature probe.

Well, decently good news. Plugged everything back in today and all seems to be working except for the Ph probe (reading above 9.0 but dropping down and hopefully will stick to where it should be. Will update). Obviously the wiring is quite a mess right now, but I am just trying to see what works.

Did you remember to use the gasket when you installed the bulkhead?

put the controller in a bowl with rice as rice absorbs moisture as long as there are no holes for the rice to fall into. I've done this with phones.
