A fellow reefer showed me a link explaining that bulk reef supply was hacked. However when you go to there website it's being hidden in a very small text that says security update. It seems to me they are trying to hide the fact they were hacked and save face. This should be on there front page in bold print not hidden from view. Most of us shop at brs and should be raising hell about this lack of communicating with us and trying to brush under the rug the problems there having. It clearly says in the update CREDIT CARD DATA STOLEN. Everyone needs to be alarmed with brs handling and lack of being forthcoming about this problem. Please check your credit and accounts with them change passwords protect yourself because it seems brs only cares about there reputation not us consumers or this would be on there front page not hidden.

If you click on the little tiny security update you will see the security problem with stolen personal information the don't even call it what it is. Instead it's just a security update what a joke can't believe how they are handling this. We need to spam them with messages to put this on there from page in full display for all to see that may have been effected here's a link to there security update about stolen personal info.

Did you read this part:

Customers affected by this incident will receive written notification from Bulk Reef Supply in the next few days detailing the data which has been compromised and the steps to take to receive credit-monitoring services and other credit-protection services free-of-charge.

Not only are they not trying to hide it, they are going to send written notification out to everyone that was effected by it.

I see that but in the mean time I feel it's a disservice that they are hiding that in the corner hidden. This has been going on for 6 months and now there just a little text everyone could miss easily and since it's already been over two weeks since they discovered this how long until the emails go out to people. I realize there trying to help customers they think we're effected but why not put it right on the front page in bold instead of hiding it behind a security update link. It seems more of a security problem than an update I'm sure even you would agree to that. I love brs but this is just not a good way to handle something like this in my opinion. I think it's only right that every reefer knows about this now because who knows if there information was compromised. Instead of waiting for brs to send an email or do the right thing and put it on the front page easy to see.

Honestly who would normally click that link there hiding it to save face. I'm glad there sending out emails but us reefers talk to each other quite often and on forums a full page ads would at least get the word out to watch your finances.

Also just to point this out Home Depot had same problem and alerted everyone and they are still having problems with false charges on credit cards same with Sony. At least they were willing to put it on the front page of there website.

Everyday that email from brs doesn't go out is another day that someone could be trying to use your credit card or identity. The objective should be to get the word out as soon as possible and as quickly as possible. I think in the least that's what's expected of buisness.

When I went to brs today it was the first thing that popped up it was a full page explaining what happen and no i didn't click that security update.

Not for me or lots of other people all I see is the little link that's says security update. Then it's like everything is normal. I love brs almost buy exclusively from them but I've been hacked before and time does really matter meaning the faster you know the quicker you can take action to stop it. It should be big and bold front page an email to all customers just incase kind of thing. That's they way it should be handled.

I guess I just always assume reefers are better people. I'd have rather for an email letting me know I could have been effected rather than seeing a post on my local forum. Then go to the page and have to look to find where it says security update.

What windows does to stop hackers is a security update when they update your software to keep you from getting hacked.

This is a lain we got hacked be aware or security lapse. Call it what it is.

Seems like someone's always trying to steal now a days. Hope they werent to excited about getting my info im a poor reefer They can't take what I don't have haha.

Lol I always use PayPal just for this reason but there's a few guys I know that always use credit cards there and they probably aren't to happy

Ditto on using paypal...I always use this option when shopping onlne.

Hmm this is actually concerning to me since my CC company contacted me a few days ago asking me about groupon transactions totaling $1500. They were fraudulent charges and was not me. I have no idea how someone got my CC info but I'll be following this now.

My hole point is instead of them trying to figure out who was effected alert everyone just incase then follow up. Hope you have luck with your problem there it may not even be related

I think most companies save data used to make purchases weather they report it or not. At the very least your name address etc. I guess until they are willing to rely own up to this problem and explain things better we just won't know. Now would be a great time for a brs video and a front page explanation

This actually happened to me TWICE. I buy a ton of stuff online and am now on my 3rd bank card thanks to BRS. It was only after i had received my new card and immediately placed an order with BRS and less than a month later it was stolen AGAIN that i had narrowed it down to them. Luckily i was only taken for 200 and my bank immediately returned the money detecting fraud. I will still continue to order from them, but it makes me want to use prepaid cards with the exact ammount to prevent it in the future. They hit me by processing multiple transactions through offshore servers, luckily my bank is pretty good at catching fraud.

Sorry to hear. I have great luck with my paypal and only use a certain card with 0% liability on fraud but in the past I had problems that's why this is so concerning to me and the way this was handled

Everyone – first of all, thank you for your patience. We can’t tell you how sorry we are about this. It has been a difficult period for our customers and everyone here at BRS. We know you are frustrated and encourage you to call our customer service team at 763-432-9691 if you have any questions or concerns.
