I also want to note that CO2 can be a culprit with well water, but it certainly isn't the only one. Any idea what your iron concentration is like? Other ions could contribute too but that's one that tends to vary highly with location.
Well water in general is usually low in O2, high in CO2, and often high in N2 also depending on the well.
