Anywhere to buy nice custom tanks online instead of through the lfs that will charge an arm and a leg? I know of Glasscages down in Dickson but have heard bad reviews on them.

I have heard of them but have heard some bad stories. Have you had success with them or know anyone who has?

Their tanks aren't bad, it's the poor attitude and the non existent customer service skills of the owners that has Glass Cages with a bad reputation.

Your best bet is to buy used. Tanks are expensive no matter. And I've owned two Glass Cages tanks without issue.

So neve you had good experience with them? Their reviews are really mixed is all, I hear a lot about attitude and sloppy seams that needed to be neatened up. Do the do bowfronts?

Call ATM they will help charge you 500 bucks for the a 30 gal tank.
It also comes with over stocking it with fish. I'm not sure if they do custom bow fronts at glasscages. They sell bow fronts as a complete set up in certain sizes according to their web site. I would call them and see. I personally just got a 90 gal from them. Customer service wasn't bad and despite the reviews of there sloppy silicone work, my tank has very precise seams.

Reef Savvy...I'd rather get an 80-125 gallon Reef Savvy than a 180+ gallon of any other manufacturer. I personally think 80-125 is the best size tank for a reef...unless a must have is big fish or tangs...

My first experience wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible. I was ordering a new tank at that point. I've actually gone over to their shop on one of the Saturdays that they're doing the closeout tank sales and they were nice. I don't think they do bowfronts, either. At least not built on site, but they might.

The tank I currently own I got used, but the previous owner had purchased it new from them a few years ago.

Brandon has one those older "bulletproof" GC tanks. as do i. Both have moved hundreds of miles with no issues. My was trailered back from Fayetteville Arkansas still on the GC stand. I have also ordered a custom sump from them. yes, their not very friendly to deal and they have no customer service, but they do build a quality product. not as fancy as the reef savvy or near as expensive. that said, if looking for a 180, there are one or two for sale in the area.

Yeah I looked on Craigslist and there's a couple decent ones, especially a 265 gallon for $900 down in Clarksville. That being said I am always a little hesitant of buying an empty tank cause you never know about leaks til you fill it.

I had a good experience with glass cages. I had custom holes drilled as well in their stock design, and they did a great job. It did take a week longer than promised however.

I think their biggest issues are customer service and sloppy seams. That's not major but gotta decide if it's worth the cheaper price. If they don't do bowfronts it doesn't matter cause that's what we need anyways.

Go for the 265! :) I've got an old glasscages tank as well, and while I cant speak to the bowfronts, this thing is built like a tank. Pretty sure they eurobraced the eurobracing.

The 265 is a brown canopy and stand, I want black to match the furniture, plus it's a square tank and I want a bow. Its just a great price, and looks like it has a small stand which could be problematic from a sump standpoint.

Saltwateraquarium.com has the DSA 180 Extreme Bowfront for $2461 plus shipping. Includes stand, overflow, glass covers, and it's drilled.

FWIW, you could also price this at the Critter. I know they can get DSA tanks, and you might not have to pay shipping.
