Cabinet / Sump section lighting - what did you use?

as i build my tank stand... i wanted to know what lighting are you guys using for the CABINETS.

i know those strip leds are pretty common - but how long do they really last?
what brand do you have and how was your experience.

They dont really stick well - so what i did last time was stable them into my stand.
but then i realized, once they go bad - i am screwed - will be a pain to take them out and replace them with new LED strips.

super curious to see what you have used currently/in the past and what were your lessons learned?
recommendations?

Went to HD and bought 3 LED pucks with remote. I think they were these

Thanks Fudsey - were these bright enough for your liking? i have usually seen pucks like these not all that bright.

Excuse the mess, I need to tidy up under there but I'm lazy about that. I have 2 pucks on one side and the third on the other

On my current system, I use the one shown in the pics. I used 'O' screw in hooks with stainless 'keychain type' rings to secure. Easy to remove if needed. I've run it for ~2 years with no problems. Whites at night and either off or blue during the day.

My sump area is using only 2 of the 3 light strips.
I like these since the LED's are inside a small plastic housing, and includes mounting hardware, and has a switch I mounted on the back corner outside my stand.

Rechargeable LED motion sensitive light. Turns on when I open the cabinet, turns off automatically. Adhesive magnet on ceiling of sump, I just pull it out periodically and recharge it.

oh man... wouldnt that be overkill for cabinet lighting? unless you have a frag tank or something that this light is lighting up for you.

i need 5 bars/pucks/leds - for the sump and the side cabinets - hopefully all connected - using a single electrical outlet...

I used one of those blade LED's for years in my cabinet. Now i am running nothing... but here soon i will install a stronger than usual strip light and mount it with 3D printed tabs to hold it in place. Dont over think this one. My buddy ran a T5, i have seen T8's, LEDs, under counter, tap lights and all that.

Just get something that you can switch with a remote if you dont have a toggle board or built in toggle switch and do not tape anything in place. In time, all adhesives will fail so screw or zip tie it in place.

Yes, it is but...

It was essentially free from rewards at Marine Depot from purchases. So what the heck. lol

I use this rechargeable LED bar. I recharge it about once every 1-2 months. Works great. Only complaint is that the shut off timer isn't adjustable. I'd like it to stay on a bit longer, but it comes back on with a simple wave of the hand.
