I’m glad he’s okay!!! And love the tattoos!!!Skeletor seems to be keeping dinner down so that's a good sign. Threw up all of his breakfast about 4 hours after eating so we have a couple hours to go.
Meanwhile..... One extremely clingy noodle

I want a bivalve );That's what I thought, when did he get here? How did he get here? I have so many questions....
So what I’m hearing is next time I go to get critters which should be this week RFAs should be #1 on my list? They that good?I DONT. You're going to want them in every salt tank you have, just start now.
Easy visual enrichment, they don't take up valuable real-estate for anything else you're likely to be adding and they add great depth to the tank.So what I’m hearing is next time I go to get critters which should be this week RFAs should be #1 on my list? They that good?

ALSO, saw your comment on another thread about mangroves - coincidentally my neighbor's kid brought me home handfuls from the beach in August and after popping them in QT for a bit they've been sprouting in my sump. You really want some I can probably arrange mailing some up there. I only kept a few of them from the handfuls of pods he brought me, but they're super easy to obtain around here.

(which Rock Flower Anemones will be great for)I miss kayaking in Florida, cruising through the mangroves was amazing. Sometimes manatees would surface near us and almost knock us over. XD I’m so ready to go back and visit Florida sometimeEasy enough that I can drag my kayak to the canal next to my house and collect them in the right season lol
We're not toooooo far from Weeki Wachee, we will sometimes load up and head that way, tons of manatees there! The canal by my house actually connects Tampa Bay to Lake Tarpon so we get an interesting variety of animals. Manatees, snook, tarpon, rays, gators... you know, all the FL standards.I miss kayaking in Florida, cruising through the mangroves was amazing. Look for them with zoas. Thats where I got some of mine. The others not sure.I want a bivalve );
Yes yes yes and yes. What @danieyella said. They usually stay at the base of the rock. The shallow ones are gorgous with patterns not colorful. Deep water have all the color aka as ultra rfa.So what I’m hearing is next time I go to get critters which should be this week RFAs should be #1 on my list? They that good?
As some of my reefing mentors know, my husband isn't the most supportive of this hobby. He's getting better, but he's still, hmmmm, shall we say a tight butt when it comes to spending money on tanks ;Hilarious . Right now, my focus is getting him to spend the money to get the 75 set up and running. I'm at the "I need sand and rock" stage of the build. I have to pick my battles, and I think its wisest to hold off on the RFA's for the time being LOLI DONT. You're going to want them in every salt tank you have, just start now.
Another reason I’m probably holding off on marriage. I WANT REEF FREEDOM!!! If I wanna eat ramen and have lots of coral then so be itAs some of my reefing mentors know, my husband isn't the most supportive of this hobby. Longboat lol. I used to have a house on Lido lol. Sold it, as we plan to move a little further south in FL in a few years lol.Oh my gosh I’m flippin’ out
Tarpon Lake I used to go fishing there with friends and for tournaments
Longboat Key (you probably know where that is but for people who don’t it’s on the opposite side of the bay between Anna Maria & Siesta) used to be my fricken stomping grounds. I’d hang out at the beach and swim in the lagoon looking for corals and critters. That’s where I started noticing and developing an interest in marine life. That place is the reason I keep a reef now. I remember being little and collecting live conchs then putting them all in a tide pool and hanging out with them as they climbed all over me. They’re still one of my favorite creatures and I have one in my current tank. I’d collect limpets, barnacles, oyster clusters, crabs et cetera from the dock and put them in those tide pools that gather beneath those concrete piers. I also got my username from a board that washed up on the beach once, I took the name and used it in my writing. ‘Frigus’ the Latin word for ‘cool’
Two of my best friends lived on Lido! Used to hang out with them over there all the timeLongboat lol. I used to have a house on Lido lol. Sold it, as we plan to move a little further south in FL in a few years lol.

That's unfortunate. I'm sorry to hear thatAs some of my reefing mentors know, my husband isn't the most supportive of this hobby. Yup, aside from our mortgage we are debt free, set aside a certain amount per check for retirement, set aside a certain amount per check for emergencies. I killed my student loans, we both paid off our cars, and we've been extremely fortunate in this pandemic that we both have consistent jobs. The minute something slips we'll reevaluate our hobby spending for sure.My wife and I have a wee baby. She's not crazy about what the hobby costs but she keeps me spend a reasonable amount of money on it, as well as my other interests.
She is a CFP though so a healthy financial situation is what she looks at first. I can't complain I know my retirement will be covered![]()
