Cade Chaos Grimoire

Survived another day of retail mgmt in December.
Be safe. I hate retail this time of year. My mom has worked it for many years at the mart of walls. It’s so hard to see how people treat you guys.

I'm pretty sure she's got it worse by default, hope she's doing okay this season

She works in the crafts section now, though they have her doing sporting goods and toys and sometimes electronics if no one’s there. It’s a small store, so she’s lucky in that regard. Thank you. It’s definitely been a toll on her. Knees back and neck. She keeps on keeping on though, bless her. She’s had quite a few customers very mad at the fact that certain toys aren’t there or that she can’t sell them rifles due to not having their ID or other stuff. Tis the season. :/

Swinging by the house tomorrow to see if they've made any progress on the red tags. "Final walkthrough" is supposed to be the 19th.

They can't call for the other 2 inspections until these 2 are fixed and cleared. Not sure if it's the same across the board, but here they have 7 working days to fix everything tagged or they get fined. If they fix it sooner, great. They'll get reinspected the 20th at this point if they don't call and get it in sooner. Not sure how we can do a final walkthrough on the 19th if all the inspections haven't been called for or cleared....

They also have a week to fix the front and garage door paints.

Plus all of this we found on a quick breeze through:

Most of those could be fixed within a day or so if they get off their butts.
Agreed. It's the latter part that is the concern... Or well, it's more them getting organized enough to get the subcontractors out there if they're not doing it themselves....

All the red tag items could be fixed in 20 minutes. The two toilets not being caulked, the framing around the water hookups, the showerheads not being screwed on (that one made me laugh, that was a stupid callout, they're sitting right there). The electric one was the receiver box on the doorbell not being wired in at all.

Honestly, had they walked it before calling for the finals they would have seen all of this themselves

*** i am so sorry i can only imagine how frustrating this is.

I did that last week and walked away from a $6500.00 job.....what is wrong with me hahaha?
Sometimes you gotta. Customer is NOT always right. We just went to court with a customer, who thought he was right. We said no the whole time, so he sued us. Judge sided with us. In the auto repair business 90% of customers are WRONG. That's a fun time always correcting dum dums.

Very frustrating. Sorry you have to deal with this. Do you think it’s more your builder or just this way in general?

Honestly, I think it's just this way in general. At least in Florida. But, we get what we want, and it's actually cheaper to have a new house built than the way the market is in this area. We would have been buying a smaller house on not even a quarter acre for more than what this house is costing us plus the land.

A smaller house down the street from us on only one acre is up for over $450,000 right now.

Yesterday was a garbagey flare day. I made it through work - came home and watched Howl's Moving Castle which always makes me feel better, read a book ... went to bed at like 1130 so a little earlier than usual. Woke up 75 times like usual. Then 530am - day off - WIDE AWAKE. Why.

What am I going to do with all this extra day off time today? Tank maintenance? :thinking-face:
