Cade Chaos Grimoire

You’ll love the Penni!!! I’ll never go back to any other tank! 2-3 islands look good and give you plenty of space for coals and water movement.. I have 2 islands in mine but they’re close together because of lighting on such a large tank gets pricey… some day I’ll move them apart and switch lights but I’m happy with it for the time being.
I've always wanted a peninsula tank, but have never had an appropriate place to put one. Jealous!

My new house was perfect for one! It’s the first one I’ve owned and regret not ever having one before with all the tanks I’ve ever built or owned lol.. the house we bought a couple years ago had a divider wall between 2 living rooms and it was torn out before we moved in.. as you walk in the front door it was just one massive room so the tank acts as a separator between the living room and now chill room with the tank and pool table etc.

Did someone say "design help"? How can I be of service?
Design me an aquascape or 3
I’ll sit back and watch this one as I have no idea how to scape a salty penn tank lol.
I have no idea how to scape anything, I'm horrible

I'm hoping we swing back this way, but ultimately don't want it to be an annoying obstruction in the house, we'll see. Either way I'm sticking with the 4ish ft frame so I can reuse my lights I already had from the last 4ft tank.

Last day of work for the week and off all next week.

Closing tomorrow then headed to install all our blinds and likely start moving some of the stuff from here to there. Don't think we'll move everything (including the bed, ourselves) until Fri/Sat when we have the extra bodies who are helping clear out the storage units since M wrecked his knees working on my car the other day. Skeletor will be picked up Saturday evening and brought over after all the in & out is done.

I forgot to order sand... I don't want to wash whats in the tank for the move....

Good news is I think we're moving the tank the end of next week, not this weekend.... So I think I can order in time :thinking-face:

Gotta remember which mix I preferred...

I prefer Carib sea special grade myself.. it’s not too big and stays put for the most part and my wrasses and diamond goby love it.. chewy or petco is really cheap and be to you within 2-3 days.

I prefer the tropic eden, seemed to clean up faster for me. I did a mix of two different grades though and I can't recall which...

Either meso & reef or meso & mini....

I searched my purchase history, I believe the answer is meso and reef. Mini wasn't ordered when I set up the small tank - I think it blew around too much

Dimensions of new tank? Overflow style and location? Return location(s)? What type of rock will you be using (live / dead) branch, shelf, arch, round, etc.)?

Tropic eden 4 bags, 3 sizes. May not need the 4th, may need more.... We'll see when/if the tank ever gets scheduled and arrives.

Edit: now that I'm home again - mixture of reeflakes, mesoflakes, and miniflakes.
Sometimes I can be useful...?

It was in the initial post requesting help please hold...

(Rock currently unknown, likely live since I'm not too far from Tampa and don't require any special shipping to get it.)

We're back to considering peninsula again :face-with-tears-of-joy:

Couch gets delivered Tuesday the 9th. We bounced back to regular tank because we didn't want the couch + tank to obstruct too much. Then we found a completely different couch we liked and bought that instead. Now we're looking at bar planning across the other side and reconsidering peninsula to open up more bartop space along that wall.

So here's your challenge #Cronies

Design me aquascapes for a 48x24x28 peninsula tank (approx 133g display) vs aquascapes for 48x24x24 standard style tank (approx 114g display).

You have 2 weeks to present your plannings. You all win my eternal gratitude. I hate designing aquascapes.

Probably sticking with cade for simplicity sake, so if we go w/ the regular style the overflow is hidden in the ato chambers and comes out on the right side of the back wall. If we go peninsula it's the tiny back wall centered.

May use some of my current rock over there once it's up and running. I would love to find some good branching rock for the pony tank and rescape for their needs once the other is up.

About to head to the bank for closing, immediately after that we do the final close w/ the builders.

Went over last night, Republic dropped off our trash can but not the recycling bins yet.

Tilers made it out to fix that nasty backsplash situation.

Everything on our punch list has been fixed except: one torn screen, one missing bug felt on slider doors, and broken bottom lock on door brace. I believe the door brace thing is a manufacturer shipping wait though.

Oh, for everyone who asked...

Looking in from the back porch, the water hookups on the right wall are for the bar sink we're going to install. The tank will either go on that wall (left of water hookups) or as a peninsula at the corner there.
