So for clarification, did you calibrate this refractometer with RO/DI or a 35 ppt standard?

Calibration with an "off" standard could also explain things. For example, if someone bought it, used some, replaced it with water, and returned it to the store.

Yes, I did, but it's more of a "it' can't be our product" you must be doing something wrong attitude.

And my refractometer calibration is with 35ppt, and I use the Alk test method.
In the end I don't trust IO any longer since IO has that attitude and I switched all my customers back to Tropic Marin. . I sold all my IO boxes and ordered all new TM....

Just switch to Red Sea it's very consistent. I hate reef Crystal just for inconsistency.

I just bought 2 boxes of IO from petsolutions. What's the batch number?

Since your insinuating I did not tell them, which did. But they were going to use to cycle their 600g..tank. it did not matter to them.

The batch numbers are................oh wait....you do yur own work....lol

Interesting they were not more helpful. From what I've seen in the past and recently people have contacted them and were asked to send back a sample of salt. Not the entire bag/box/bucket and were sent a new batch.

I do feel we are not seeing both sides and probably wont.

They did want me to send in 2 cups from each bag --from each box so lets do math.

my boxes 7 x 4 bags each box =28 bags =56cups.
friends boxes 9 x4 bags=36 bags=72 cups.
total =128 cups.....of salt shipped at MY COST... yeah that's not going to happen.

If it were me I would have concentrated on just one box and sent in 2 cups from each bag. Fit them into a flat rate box for under $6.

Yes, but its very easy to negotiate to work on a single box at a time. At least to confirm no testing or mixing error on your side.
