when I do my calcium test it takes about 30 drops to get my result which isn't even on the chart it came with I estimate it to be about 540 about 100 higher than I read it should. What can I do to adjust.!

What are your SG, Alk and Mg reading? It might be prudent to get a second opinion.

My sg is at 35 right now alk is above 2.8 but has always been high. And my mg I'm not sure of

Do you add any chemicals/buffers besides water changes?
The only thing I ever add into my water is food and zooplankton. And occasionally when I do a water change if I clean the floor bottom I will put a nitrate reducer in if the levels are a little high

I'm guessing bad test kit. Have a lfs test it for you. Or test your new water before you do a water changes. Most salts have a chart.

540 ppm calcium is fine and won't hurt anything.

if you are not dosing it, either it came with the salt mix (some have that much) or it is test error.

In either case, there's no need to worry about that calcium result. :)

Yeah the store said it was high so it was no my test kit but today I bought magnesium to start dosing is that a ok. Idea

I need to get mg tester but I have never dosed my tank to this day and is running for a year

I wouldnt dose anything you cant test for :-)
You dont dose 2 part so my conclusion is your salt is high in calcium.
What brand do you use and how often do you change water?

Ocean reef. So your saying if my calcium is high most likely my magnesium is as well? My ph and alk are both high

Depends on what you added to raise them. If you added nothing, then no, I wouldn't conclude there's any relationship.
