ok guys, my 3-360 we's aren't cutting it depth wise for sps so I'm at a crossroads... i LOVE kessils, the shimmer, the pop... my LPS have never looked better. so heres my dilemma... i picked up a 360N and its doing the job, but still not as well as i've seen the the ap700. i also have a 5 foot tank (red sea reefer 450) so I'm thinking an ap700 in the center and a pair of 360N, one on each side to make up for the area not covered by the ap700. ALSO from everything that i can find, the ap700 is NOT compatible with my apex... sooooo I'm reaching out to anyone who can shed some light on how i can make this work. and hopefully someone from neptune chimes in with the most important factor... that they are working on a program and it'll be done soon! thanks so much everyone

I talked to Kessil and they said the ap700 will eventually get Apex integration. They are working on ironing out app problems, and releasing the iphone app first however. My ap700 is over a 250 reefer and I love it. The app could be better, but once it is set, no big problem.

eventually isn't sitting well with me lol. @Mjl714 i have 2 360we's on the ends where my lps are and a 360n in the center where I'm attempting to keep some sps. i've seen some pretty impressive colonies thrive under the ap700 and the spotlight on the BRS 160 build made me want it even more.

I'm surprised I have a 2 a360we over a 120gal and my sps grows great. How far from surface are you and how high are they turned up? I would love to get a ap700 to use with a360s. My tank is 48x30 so I have some areas that could use more light and I can only grow lps and Zoas on borders

they're about 8" from the water level and hit 90%, 6" below water level I'm 325 par, mid tank 200-250, floor, 85-100

they are, read that lux or pur are more accurate, especially for kessil led's but whatever the number is, i've gone by how the coral reacts... and unfortunately, it hasn't been in favor of SPS

I am with you I love kessil. But I keep thinking of adding a few t5 to ignite growth if you can afford the ap700 id say go for it. And if it's not enough add some t5 next to it. Might look really nice. I talked to guy in October that owns Diablo coral in ca. His whole store runs on kessils. He told me that he runs all of his at 100% i think he is on reef central and maybe here. Might be worth trying to contact him.

yeah, i talked to him as well at MACNA this year. i have another 10% to work with, just don't wanna burn through these. i haven't seen anything about their lifespan decreasing running at 100% for an extended duration though, have you?

No I have not. I had he 350 also it's four years old and my friend is now using it. Still works great. Those I never ran over 75. But now with Apex it's so easy to ramp Down with new coral and raise 5% a week

Have you measured par with out screen top? I don't have a meter so I can't tell you what mine are. My tank is only 20inch deep with sand I only have about 17 to 18 inch of water.

I have 2 Kessil AP700s (and eventually will get a third) for my 300 gallon set-up. The tank is cycling, so I can't report on growth yet. But there is a noticeable difference in color "pop".

I have one Kessil A360WE over my 55 gallon frag tank...and my SPS is growing nicely. Everything is doing well, with the exception of my montis...which seem to get "burnt" even at the lowest Kessil intensity setting. Here are some pictures...

I've had similar experience with my montis, almost afraid to back under
a360we's. Other corals doing fine.

I ran 3 - 360WE with 8 bulbs of t5s. All kessils were at 100% and never once did I get any issue with burning corals. If anything, I thought the kessils aren't powerful enough, which is another reason for the t5s.

I'm looking forward to see more tanks with AP700

My 300 gallon tank is still in process and cycling, but here are some pictures of the tank with 2 AP700s.

Look at how bright the bottom is, even at a 24" depth. First two pictures are the empty tank with different light set-ups. Third picture is the tank with rockwork and water.

4th is another view of the rockwork. I like having tunnels for fish to swim through, and I wanted to leave enough open water for the corals to grow and still leave fish plenty of room to swim.

Can't wait to start stocking it!
