Calling all Noopsyche K7 pPro III V3 owners

Greetings all. The purpose of this thread is to see if we can share our settings with each other. Tank descriptions, coral kept, distance from lights to coral etc. Maybe even coral growth if you have had them running long enough. I'm finding some settings posted randomly and thought it would be nice if we could have a thread dedicated to sharing settings and results in one place.

I installed 4 of these over a 6ft 180 mixed reef. I just installed them last night and still have some work to do. Currently I can only connect via ap but I think it's user error. I have a par meter (apogee 510) so once I get everything finished I can take some readings. I had a radion xr15, hydra 26hd, and two black boxes crammed under my canopy. The K7s are sure pleasing to look at compared to that mixture.

I'm not sure about placement yet, may have to play with them. The way I have them mounted I can slide all 4 side to side the length of the tank and about 3 inches forward and backward.

I have mine set up for about 2 weeks. Mine is a standard marineland 75gallon. I built a hood to house them and 2 55watt t5 retrofit bulbs. I have it about 10 inches from the water line. I don’t have a par meter so I tried the photone app just to get an idea. I put my phone in a ziplock bag lol. 250-300 par at top of rocks. 500+ at surface. The Wi-Fi set up was a little tricky I have a 3 point mesh system and had to unplug the closest point to force 2.4 on my phone and that did the trick. I had to keep checking in the Wi-Fi app to see when my phone was in 2.4 but once connected it’s been fine ever since. I don’t have a full daylight picture but I can get one today.

I used electrical conduit 1/2 I think. I had a conduit bender but I think they are fairly reasonable at the big box stores. And painted it. The hood is just 1/4 plywood box and I used the straight piece from the included Noopsyche mounting arms to attach the lights to the hood.

Also recently bought a unit, awesome for the price. Are you guys using the presets? Looking for settings which emulate AB+ in terms of color and spectrum.

I have them at a soft blue offering moderate light with shimmer

I modified the sps setting. I like it more white. But I came from halides and like that look.

I bought longer bolts then made spacers out of wood and added a couple flat washers for support. I remember seeing a post from @Gtinnel where his bracket had cracked and he suspected because it wasn't contacting enough area to support it properly

Visually do you think 4 lights look bright enough over your tank? I have a 6ft 125gallon and was debating these lights. I’d really like to see your par numbers. With all the good affordable options out there now, I can’t justify radions or one of the other expensive options. These lights have me intrigued.

I have 6 of them on my 6’ 125g tank for a year so far. I made a rectangular frame from T slot aluminum and then have the lights hanging from 4 bolts where you would normally connect the light to the claw. I then hung the frame from my ceiling.

Mine are obviously the older type with the controller so I can’t easily share my setting but I will try to turn my controller on and take pictures in the next day or two.

I can see where one would need to be careful with these lights starting off. They put out some serious par. I did a check earlier today just after 12 noon when they reached peak. Readings were taken with a apogee 510. I have a lot of surface agitation and didn't feel like shutting everything down so these are not exact. I think if I had a calm surface they would be higher. The 700 was just under the surface and is conservative. Lights are 7 inches off the water and tank is 24 inches deep and 24 inches wide. Lights are close to center but maybe a tad to the rear. I have center braces so I did not measure in that area. My setting are below as well and as you can see there is plenty of room to crank them up. These are not my final settings. I used the S/L setting and reduced it a little . Right now they are a little too blue for my taste but I reduced the white a bit too much . I just wanted to get some reading up since I started the thread

Have to say I'm really digging these lights. Still running the settings posted above and everything is looking good. Corals have just enough pop when the lights are winding down to look really good but not totally unrealistic. Makes evening viewing very pleasurable. This is mid day

I love that hood! We're going to build one for the 125 eventually but it'll be vertical slats.

Thanks. It was made at the same time as the stand. It was my first stand build so it's not perfect but not bad for a novice woodworker.

Second was different but turned out nicer. Now I just need to make a third

Here's what we did for the 110. The stand is just angle iron welded and then painted oil rubbed bronze - same for all of my fish tanks.
