Calling all Noopsyche K7 pPro III V3 owners

Used 1/16 wire to hang 3 Noo-Psyche V3 pro lights (Wi-Fi version). Really pleased with it.

I have mine set up for about 2 weeks. Mine is a standard marineland 75gallon. I built a hood to house them and 2 55watt t5 retrofit bulbs. I have it about 10 inches from the water line. I don’t have a par meter so I tried the photone app just to get an idea. I put my phone in a ziplock bag lol. 250-300 par at top of rocks. 500+ at surface. The Wi-Fi set up was a little tricky I have a 3 point mesh system and had to unplug the closest point to force 2.4 on my phone and that did the trick. I had to keep checking in the Wi-Fi app to see when my phone was in 2.4 but once connected it’s been fine ever since. I don’t have a full daylight picture but I can get one today.

I can see where one would need to be careful with these lights starting off. They put out some serious par. I did a check earlier today just after 12 noon when they reached peak. Readings were taken with a apogee 510. I have a lot of surface agitation and didn't feel like shutting everything down so these are not exact. I think if I had a calm surface they would be higher. The 700 was just under the surface and is conservative. Lights are 7 inches off the water and tank is 24 inches deep and 24 inches wide. Lights are close to center but maybe a tad to the rear. I have center braces so I did not measure in that area. My setting are below as well and as you can see there is plenty of room to crank them up. These are not my final settings. I used the S/L setting and reduced it a little . Right now they are a little too blue for my taste but I reduced the white a bit too much . I just wanted to get some reading up since I started the thread

I have 18 of these lights hanging over my 1100 Gallon tank. 5' x 10' x 36" deep.
I have had for a few months and I do really like them. I have had some high nutrient issues which I am finally getting under control so just starting to add some corals. I am currently just using the SPS setting.

They are the colors that are adjustable on the lights. Some are set the same so they are over layed and not visible on the graph

I used electrical conduit 1/2 I think. I had a conduit bender but I think they are fairly reasonable at the big box stores. And painted it. The hood is just 1/4 plywood box and I used the straight piece from the included Noopsyche mounting arms to attach the lights to the hood.

What are you using to hold the electrical conduit up? Do you have a pic of the bottom?

I just screwed it to the back of the stand. I don’t have a picture and it’s to close to the wall to get a good picture. I think I bought 8 foot pieces and just bent one end at 90 degrees.

Giving this a bump because I would love to see what others are doing. I have two over a Fluval Flex, don't have a par meter but running mixed reef with settings somewhere in between the default LPS and Mixed setting. I have it at the highest setting on the arms right now which I think is 12 inches above the tank, with the water line being 14" below the lights.


I'm trying to figure out if I want to ceiling mount it, but I have no idea if I need to be drilling into a stud or just the regular ceiling.

Also trying to figure out a mounting situation where I can add reef brights at a slight angle to help color the SPS from the sides.

I am about to give them a try.
Biggest issue I had with black box leds was color spectrum. All had plenty of Par, most had issue with the color spectrum, white channel on most of the black box leds I tried, spectrum sucked.

I have not yet tried Noopsyche but plan on ordering soon.

I run full blues, 35% green, 15% red, and 5% white. I don't like white light because it takes away from the POP of the corals but I love the spectrum. I turn my whites on for meetings just so I don't get the blue haze on the camera and everything is still pretty, just not popping.

How high are yours mounted? Do you have pR readings for your tank?

No par. @Mibu checked par on hers and she said she was surprised how much par they put out. The Photone app showed 300 par at the surface of the water mount d at the 9.5" height on my older 90 watt K7 Pro II but it the numbers out of water seemed pretty skewed to me so I don't trust it. I'd rather get a real par meter. @Gtinnel did you run a par meters on yours?

No I never have although I probably should.

Im very late, it wasnt just me. I compared numbers with kitten britches. They were almost identical. I used seneye, she used apogee

I just orderd the new k7III.
I have been using the K7II pro on my last few tanks since 2018. Glad to see they are app control now and get away from the clunky controller.
Curious to see how much better the light looks with the different spectrum vs the old k7II

Shhhh... You didn't hear this from me. I loosened the top two screws slightly and then loosened the bottom two screws slightly and then I slid it over the rim and then I made sure the bottom tow screws were tight and then I made sure the top two screws were tight and then I tightened the plastic screws.

So I just got my light today. I was upgrading from an older K7II pro I have been using.
Wow this was a crazy upgrade in power.
I have had G4 radions in the past and even with the new ones They are not $700 more better than these. These are probably what 95% of a radion now with the wifi app control and such.
I have them over my little 21gallon lagoon and with my settings I am still getting like 150 on the sand and 250 and such on the rocks
So now if I upgrade to a 40B or slightly larger I only need to spend a little bit for another light not crazy amount for the other brands

How are you liking the color with that much cool white? My 20g nano peaks at 10,40,10,42,40,20 right now and it seems everything is loving it.

i like the color.
As far as anything else in the tank. its only a little over a month old and all I have is a duncan frag at the moment.
