Two frags I got two days ago.... We'll see what happens. They've already browned out a little as you can see but they went from a full t5 system to my kessil LEDs so that's too be expected I'm sure they will color back up eventually ?

Cant really compare a sink top RO unit to a multi-stage Spectrapure RO/DI unit...

I agree. Does your spectrapure have a final stage carbon filter? Like after its brought to 0 tds, it then goes through carbon?

I don't have a sink top RO system. I have a full 4 stage rodi system
What we were saying was that I hadn't changed the RO membrane for a long time and I think it had gone bad but I didn't realize it because I was still getting 0tds water. The problem is that tds meters don't see everything that's in the water they can only pic up on certain types of things so even if you have 0 tds water it can still be contaminated

If you were blowing through quality DI resin that quickly, it's certainly possible the RO membrane was bad but the TDS meter is a good way to measure the health of the RO membrane.

This portion of the statement is unlikely and is the reason I stated you cant compare the article that was linked (based on sink top RO units vs multi stage systems).

Updated pic... This is what always happens ? To much light ? Not enough light ? To much or not enough flow ? I have no idea it's so frustrating. Hard to get good pics but brown algae all over them. This always happens over a few weeks. Tank is steady at

Dkh 9
Ca 460
Mag 1450
Nitates around 5
Phos .04
Temp 77
Salinity 1.025

The strange thing is they don't bleach out completely it takes weeks for them die. There's no flesh peeling off. They just start to get areas where they turn a little brown then it spreads

Did you get an ICP water test done? Have you checked your pumps and anything else with magnets including your vortechs for cracked casings, exposed magnets, etc? Fully take them apart and inspect them.

I sent out an ice test with triton. I got an email on Feb 1st that they got the sample and that results should be uploaded in 2-3 days but they're still not in yet. I'll check everything but about a month ago I cleaned everything and it all looked good

There's a Glade plug in air freshener in the bathroom about 20 feet away... Never thought of that could it he causing a problem ? We don't use candles or air fresheners because neither of us like the way they smell but I have three teenagers so the bathroom can get funky we had to do something...

Its a stretch IMO. If one was very close, it may be an issue. The way your corals seem to by dying just seems outside the normal pattern so I was leaning towards some sort of contaminate.

Yeah, you might add some PolyFilters and see if they change to a weird color. I always run at least 1 in my sump.

I'll get one and see what happens.. I tested par again and lowered my lights down a little because a lot of people are telling me it's alk burn from intense lighting and lower nutrients... My par peaks at the top of my rock work at 250-265 for 4 hours with this setting.

My schedule is as follows

Kessils
9:00 am 0% color 5% intensity
12:00 pm 25% color 55% intensity
1:30 pm 50% color 60% intensity
2:30 pm 50% color 60% intensity
4:00 pm 25% color 55% intensity
9:00 pm 0% color 0% intensity

T-5's 2 purple plus 2 blue plus

11:00 am on
5:00 pm off

Zero tds is zero tds. A triton test would be a good thing. For what it's worth I've never been able to keep sps at alkalinity that high. High nutrients or near zero. I know some can but I can't. If I were you I wouldn't raise my lighting and I probably wouldn't blame it either.

Look at your numbers from 11 days ago until today. Most everything is different. Even if your water is "perfect" on what is thought to be perfect, if you're constantly changing things you will get bad results. This is even more the case if your tank is immature or an adolescent.

I've got the same problem in my tank, the Deep Blue Sea link in my signature. 3 month old tank, everything stable with weekly 5 gallon water changes. two Kessil A160WEs peaked at 100% for about the same exact par you have. 400 at the surface, 100 at the sand and about 260 at the top of the rocks where the acros are. I'm the only one in the house and I don't use aerosol cleaners or smelly candles. Bonsai started losing flesh on the underside, and I have a staghorn that started losing flesh 1/4" up from the base. Forest fire digi looks great and has full PE.

If and when you find the problem, hit me up.
