Looking into getting some chaeto but hear warnings online from buying from fish stores, and places like algae barn seem to be out of stock. Any way to treat chaeto for safe measures?

It's grown in it's own separate system - I asked.

In oregon the shops literally give it away if you come in the shop to browse.Yea that almost seems like medical MJ pricing. But I cant smoke a gold ball of that.....
I put a ball of it that I got for free in a cycling tank with NH3 readings of between 2 and 4. It certainly killed most of the fauna that was on it...including quite a few bristleworms and unidentified arthropods. I then realized that my other macro was much prettier (albeit less efficient) for nutrient export, and that chaeto is pretty stinky, and got rid of it. Vibrant, notwithstanding its claims of being macro "safe", got rid of the stragglers.Looking into getting some chaeto but hear warnings online from buying from fish stores, and places like algae barn seem to be out of stock. Bayer asprin?I occasionally give it away. I’m all out now but I’ll have some within the next couple weeks. I can’t guarantee it’s pest free but I have no pests I’ve noticed in my tank and rinse in tank water thoroughly before sending out. You can also dip chaeto in bayer for 5 min to kill some pests.
