Can you trust chaeto from your LFS???

You can get any macro ime and rinse it in tap water(quickly) this will disorient any hitchhikers and the chloramine fluoride and heavy metal will shock them then take a turkey baster to cheato,get a separate container rinse repeat, back in the day(pre 2006)people swore by tap water as an organic quick acting disinfectant(people used to dip fish in tap(I know this is crazy now)and stressed the fish out and would shock them but was an effective antiseptic dip before copper and prazi this us what people did(mostly ineffective long term)we now know to treat and fallow

You can do this aslong as they have a healthy culture

If u do this just make sure to let set overnight in fresh tank water after you rinse it a couple of times
