Canadians dosing nitrate or phosphate.

Would seachem phosphorus work ?

I dose this in my reef tank daily.

Yes it is potassium phosphate after all :)

I use potassium nitrate for nitrates, will be switching to sodium nitrate when I run out.

Thanks. I usually over research everything but I'm scared of getting Dino's now and don't know how much time I have...was looking for a quick answer but I guess I am the exception. Most people are trying to lower these not raise them...
I got rid of dinos from removing my phosphate remover and also by dosing silicates (Randy talks about the benefits somewhere online) to make diatoms take over. You could just maybe feed more in the meantime?

Thanks I am only 5 months into this hobby doing alot of learning.
Also I fix Toyota's so not much chemistry background. Glad I have you guys to help me out!

Lots of learning in this hobby, I didnt mean to sound snarky, I was just making a comment :)

I'm using this for a couple of months now with no ill effects for nitrate. I had found some planted tank threads that say it's pure potassium nitrate:

Randy suggested sodium nitrate is better so I found this but haven't ordered yet:

Going to update this for anyone else doing research on this topic.
The bioshop Canada site is for scientific research by labs only. They do not sell to the general public.

I purchased the seachem phosphorous thanks to piranhaman00 and the sodium nitrate from qualifirst.com.
I will update once I have it and have tried it out.

Ok I have received both my food grade sodium nitrate and my seachem phosphorus.
What numbers should I be shooting for in the end? And how fast should I raise them?

Ok I also only have 1 ppm nitrate. Was told should be at 2..
That’s trace and the number is fine in tanks less than 1 year old, below 5ppm is a good target after the first year, trace phosphate is 0.02-0.05, it’s just trace you need of both.
Just feed a bit more

if you dose, be real careful, it can get out of control fast
