Is anyone else having issues with the color, bleaching/going away?

Mine isn’t as bad, I can take a picture tomorrow. It’s been wet since the middle of January.

I have some in my tank, if it has faded it I cannot tell as all my white rock is now purple with coraline algae so I would expect the same on my liferock

I got some from Carib Sea and some Real Reef. Both faded. More where algae grew on them. It was great. They both give your tank color until the coralline algae can cover the rock.

Here is mine - I’m real happy about the lack of quality in the product..

Mine turned gray then turned a beautiful Green...

It took two months for mine to self destruct...

Here is a 60 second video of when I did my aquascaping. The darker rocks a Real Reef and two others are Carbi Sea. Here is a current picture.

After a year or so they both look about the same. They both are great. They make a new tank look more mature until the tank actually matures. In my experiance all tanks are going to go through ugly stages the first year and once mature they will all look about the same. So get rock based on the shape you like then worry about the extra features. As a comparison here is some rock in a tank I added on to my system in January. It was some old Maro rock I had. I cut it in half to make some flat shelves. So it was white. If you have the right water conditions and a little coraline algae it doesn't take long for all rock to turn purple.

After dealing with CaribSea one thing is evident, they will not stand behind their product. They have blamed it on water quality, Lighting and now not enough grazing snails. Yea I got enough snails I think I have like 72 in the tank. I’m glad I spent close to 700.00 on this junk. Now I’m more concerned about the oil like substance that’s collecting on the surface. I wonder if the this life rock would even past testing to be pet safe??????

Sometimes the best companies have people that for some reason don't get the service they expect just like some of the worst companies have people that love them because they were taken care of. I know for me Carib sea really went the extra mile. And my rock where I had a green hair allergy problem, you could see where the color was taken out where the algae had grown. The color is only temporary until you start growing coralline algae, so if you like the shape of the rock which is what I think carbi sea is best at creating you just need to get some coralline algae growing. If you want I need to clean my pumps. I can send you the coralline algae that I scrape off. If your water is right then within a month or so all your rock should be nice and purple again.

Can anyone share info regarding corals encrusting on this rock? I’m upgrading from a 75 to a 160 gallon display, and I’d like to add life rock to go along with the 80 pounds of real reef that will be transferred over. I’ve had the real reef in use for about 3 years. Life rock is literally half the price of real reef at my LFS, so I’d prefer to go that route.

Of course I can’t find it now, but someone posted here that coral would not encrust on his life rock. I think he’d had it for two years at that point.

Any info would be appreciated.
