carpet anemone bleached

Add carbon in a mesh bag to the filter sock of your sump and do some water changes. Figure out the source of the ammonia. Anything dead hidden under rocks...
Here's my lil baby s.haddoni... LOVE carpets!

hi was just wondering if you could tell how long it takes for a carpet to get its color back as it bleached in transit and could you also tell my 1 of hte saddle back clowns goes in to its mouth and comes back out i dont seem to be able to find any info thanks

Giganteas are hard to bring back from bleaching where Haddonis are not as hard but it depends on allot.. How bleached they are is the main thing.. If partially bleached they will recover fast. If they are pure white they my never recover. The key is if they are eating. If they eat and are sticky they can recover if they are not eating they will most likely die. Right now I am doing a gigantea that was as white as snow. A month in and he has some yellow/blue and some brown. The brown means his Zooxanthellae are coming back... I feed him finely chopped mysis and shrimp twice a day to keep up his strength.

Your is pretty bleached but its mouth is closed.. Is it sticky and does it eat? Again that's the key..

I agree. You've got to get that ammonia out of the tank and find the source. Good luck!

My guess the source may be the carpet itself. If he only had 4 fish that isn't much of a bioload hence less bacteria to deal with the ammonia. Run carbon and maybe get live bacteria and reseed your tank. Just my guess

Not a bad guess and most importantly it could hurt. However I've had carpets and lost them and I've never had an ammonia spike but like I said it couldn't hurt.

Ya just make sure all water peramerters are right on,Make sure its has good light and is acclimated to it,And i also would feed atleast 2-3 times a week.

just FYI I feed mine once a week at most. You'll find VAST variations in opinion on this issue. Many don't feed at all or VERY rarely.

Ya once a week at most is good for a healthy anemone,One that has bleached needs lots of foods and lots of light to recover well.

it taking muscle 2 times a week and its very sticky stuck to my hand when i was cleaning the glass going to get some vitamin suppeilment

I agree I feed mine twice aday till they start to get some brown to them and then I scale back too once a day and then to several times a week once it really starts to color up..

Problem is it takeS energy just to eat and produce nematocysts to catch the food. If it does not have enough energy too produce nematocysts it is doomed at that point because it cant eat.

Also I would take the water in to be tested.. If you had ammonia in your water that anemone would be reacting bad and it looks fine other than being bleached. You could have a old or bad test kit.

its coloring up but think clowns are stressing as it closes up a bit when lights come have mannged to get one but other proving to be a pain to get out
