Caught bully angel fish, now what lol

I saw today my dwarf angel (Centropyge flavicauda) is chasing after my possum wrasse.

Somehow managed to catch the angel and put him in a separate acclimation box. But, I'm wondering now what should I do? Should I hold him for a few days and release him and see if it improves, or should I just return him to my LFS?

I've never had fish aggression before. I could tell the wrasse was worn out because it was literally laying against the overflow slots. It was weird because when the lights were on, the angel wasn't chasing him but as soon as they went out, the chasing started.

Also, the angel only chases after the wrasse, not my two clowns or blenny. BUT, the wrasse is the smallest fish too.

I think that pygmy angel can get aggressive like the flameback. I would take it back. If you still want a pygmy angel then consider argi but make it the last fish in. What size is this tank?

Yes, the local fish store is a better place for the fish if you don’t want to deal with the aggressive nature. It wants to remove competition for food and space and it will not stop, ime.

Ok. You have a 32 AIO. C. argi should do fine, however, there are no guarantees. I have a cherub in my 20 AIO and it does not bother my pink streak wrasse or my firefish.

... besides, that Possum Wrasse will likely be one of the most ‘chill’ fish in your tank; won’t even try to defend himself against a carpet flea. (Lol!)

Honestly, this is the first night the flauvicada has shown any kind of aggressive behavior. ;(

Fr. I thought it would've taken me way longer, but he went into one of the magnet caves i had, so I just took a clear cup to cover the entrance, pulled the whole thing up and dumped him into the acclimation box. I was lowkey freaking out because I don't even have a net and had no plan for catching him lol.

Yea, I guess I'm just shocked because I'm heavy handed with my feeding and none of my fish have fought prior to today except for my female clown occasionally beating on her husband.

He's so precious, I would rather keep him safe than keep the flashy angel. He's just started getting comfortable swimming out in the open during the day. And now I feel like my angel made him regress like 5 days of progress.

I find most photos are not flattering of this species, but mine is pretty handsome. Shiny black scales with an orange/brown underbelly with blue streak. Very eyecatching, but not worth the aggression and headache. Lol.
Too bad, he's one of my most active swimmers.

I want to try this, just to see if I can get the fish to all live peacefully, but I also think because I won't rescape my rocks that this won't do much right? Because the angelfish has already decided what his territory is?

On a serious note though, the possum wrasse is a beautiful fish, I’ve tried to keep them, but could never get them thru QT, or if I did it just wouldn’t be long before it went missing.

On the not having a net to catch the angel, that was kind of a blessing, as Think angel fish aren’t suppose to be caught with nets as it breaks their “spines” at least that’s what I’ve heard at some of my local LFS.

On a serious note though, the possum wrasse is a beautiful fish, I’ve tried to keep them, but could never get them thru QT, or if I did it just wouldn’t be long before it went missing.

On the not having a net to catch the angel, that was kind of a blessing, as Think angel fish aren’t suppose to be caught with nets as it breaks their “spines” at least that’s what I’ve heard at some of my local LFS.

I've actually never heard of the angel fish spine and nets contradiction thing before. My LFS uses them all the time for all of their angel fish any time I watch in the shop.

Wonder if I need to find a new LFS now.

I mean, I’m no fish expert, but I’ve seen employees at LFS get screamed at by customers for trying to catch the Angel they want with a net, just my experience.

Update;

Possum wrasse came out but now he's laying on the sand semi heavy breathing but not rapid. I read sometimes wrasses will lay and play dead. Should I leave him or scoop him up into another separate acclimation box?

I don't want to stress it out further, but I also don't want it die. eeeeeeeeeeeeee

You don’t have to rescape but any little change will make overall tank unfamiliar
