What would a good centerpiece for my 40 breeder be? It is a very open scape with plenty of swim space. I was thinking of a one spot foxface.
Thanks!

Live aquaria says a 70, not a 75
The only difference is height
I think with a lightly stocked tank with lots of LR in the sump it should be fine

Maybe a marine betta. A large fish that doesn't move much.

But any large fish is going to mean a large bioload, so you'll need to have really good nutrient export

A dwarf angel, many colors/types.

Foxface will grow fast and fish that large tend to make smaller tanks look awkward and unnatural.

Coral Beauty and Flame Angels will get too big for a 40 gal.
You may get away with one of the Pygmy angels. Look at African Flame Back Pygmy angel.
Here are my Flameback in a 65 gal tank. Same footprint as a 40 breeder but significantly taller.
Single Flameback here

Harem of three here, at least they will be a harem soon. They have been together for 3 days.

I had a pair of Flame angel here but I think it is too small for the Flame angels

They also have hawkfish in stock and probably some nice gobies. You could probably hit free shipping and still get a few fish you like.
