Centerpiece fish

Dwarf angels are pretty cool. Do you have any corals they'd nip at?

Any of the pygmy Angels would be fine in a 40 gal tank.
The two Flameback are the most beautiful, and most expensive, of the pygmy angels list below, IMO
Centropyge argi, the Cherub angel
Centropyge flavicauda , the Yellow tail angel
Centropyge acanthops , the African Flameback
Centropyge aurantonotus the Brazillian Flameback (Fireball)

Midas blenny might be nice. They have lots of personality, are bright yellow with a puppy dog face and they eat some nuisance algae. They are jumpers so you need a tight lid however.

This is a new tank. I’ve had it cycled for 2 weeks, but keep adding food while the clownfish( black snowflake and gladiator ) are still in qt in my frag tank
I would like to stock my tank with utilitarian fish
(Six line, algae eaters)

A dwarf angel, many colors/types.

Foxface will grow fast and fish that large tend to make smaller tanks look awkward and unnatural.
Foxface are very active swimmers.
Mine paces in my 75g, 4' long.

I see many people say that they just graze on algae, and don’t swim around too much like tangs, but thanks for the advice

Tailspot blenny. Only gets 2.5 inches, a good worker and tons of personality. Mine holes up in a shell, his hidey hole he backs into.

I’m leading towards the goby because the cool relationship they have with pistol shrimp
I have a clown goby and pistol. They are reclusive.
I haven't seen them in a few weeks, but I hear the pistol shrimp warning crabs or somebody every couple of days.
