I also had too low nutrients, chaeto would turn yellow & die. Dosed just a little nutrients & what tiny piece I had took off. Now I'm removing a lot !

My chaeto takes up about 80% of my fuge with diffused water flow and no chaeto movement. Light is quite concentrated from cheap led grow lamp. It has only ever had one small patch go white from being above the water line and under the light. Everywhere else is deep green.

What level is your Nitrate and Phosphate?

I have to dose Phosphate and Iron/Manganese to keep mine healthy and growing like a weed.

You have comercial products already with Iron/Manganese and some other trace elements like:
Brightwell chaetogro
Kent iron manganese
2 little fishes iron concentrate
Continuum Basic chaeto
And probably others.

I have the same problem. I am at the 6 week cycle mark. I have 5 Mollies in my tank and I feed once a day. My Nitrates are at zero and I think that’s why my charro is turning white
