Chalice lighting ?????

Peter, what depth do you keep your PB at?

thx in advance,

Aaron

Oh that's definitely one that likes more light. I keep it about 2/3-3/4 of the way down. It's a red/pink color, but the eyes are all orange and green. Higher up (like top 1/3 of the tank) it is a much brighter bubblegum pink, but the eyes get more green. I just don't have the realestate for it up higher, plus I like the eye color it has now. :)

I have had horrid luck with my Metal Halide. I am using a 250W 20K XM bulb, on a 60 gallon cube, 24" deep. I had a few chalices just flat out die, some lost their color in certain spots (bleached), and some look healthy but are not growing. A few of the ones that were looking real bad I moved over to my 46 gallon 4 x T5HO tank and they recover.

Didnt mean to high jack your thread, but just letting you know that I have had similar problems and this was one way I went at resolving them.
no biggie bro..... if it pertains to chalices and lighting it fits the bill.....;)
there is so many chalices out there now and they all need something different so its hard to guess where to put them..... i myself just got into lps i was strictly a stick fan but r2r has been converting me to lps as well.....althou my tanks not liking it..... it's a tough balancing act with a sps reef and introducing lps..... my last tank was mixed and everything did great but it wasnt bacteria driven like my current one.... im gonna lay off the vodka for a couple weeks and see what happens..... i just recently started dosing strotium and potassium and my sps took off like crazy and the colors brightened up, therefore i think i have starved my tank to much....:( thats why my lps dont look so great....."im thinking anyways"
