was wondering where most of the people on here get there corals from cheap. The cheapest I saw was salt critters does anyone here have any experience with them?

I’ve haven’t heard of salt critters before. Cheap is relative on the quality you’re looking for. It also depends on what types of corals. Give us an idea of what you want and we might be able to help :)

For cheap i actually like the lfs not online. Most will have a bargain bin of $5-10 corals. My favorite $5 coral.

. Caribbean photosynthetic gregorgian. Is about 3 times this size now but doesnt spread like crazy.

Ive noticed that trying to buy local is always the best bet, youll get a much better from from fellow reefers in your area. If its possible of course... You could try offer up or let go and see if anyone has stuff near you. Here in South Florida I have tons of people selling everything from named zoas to names SPS are a quarter of the price of online/stores.

Hell you cant go wrong getting 4-5 polyps of lets say Rastas for $20.

My first choice is my trusted LFS, then local swap meets. I did participate in the last WWC online sale, but at over $400 spent for 6 frags, they weren't exactly cheap! (really nice however!!!)

Hello, dawson May I assume Your just starting out? You will make connections & pick up nice pieces this way . Is there a local club or such? Great place to start.

Yeah I’ve been in other for about 3 months now. And I don’t think there are any clubs near I live in southeastern ky. If I get coral I have to drive to tn

I see now your kinda stuck using online sources . Good Luck

same here, but not quite as drab. my closest real store is 45 minutes away without Philly traffic. if I hit Philly traffic by 322/chester, it's an hour, hour 15 each way. It sucks, but I've never lost a fish from there as their displays are all laced with copper, except the coral system, and the salinity is rock solid 1.025.

Online is definitely more convenient, especially since the LFS that was local, where I would routinely get nice corals for $10 shut down in January.

The way I see it is buy from your LFS or trade among people in your community for cheaper or more common corals. I only use online sites for WYSIWYG corals and other fancy stuff

Zeal, Where in South Florida? I am not too far from miami area.

It's a steep price but when they offer 5 or 10 dollar corals and you get 10....thats 140. 20-30 is what the average aquasd corals sell for in local fish stores. That's good savings and trading potential. Save and invest
Wow had no idea they sold for that much at stores... And I had a watch listen with things all under 10

You can try neonreefs.com and aquariumdepot.com for cheap coral frags. Never ordered from NR but ordered once from AD for my 5 gallon nano. Corals and live stock arrived alive. AD also does different promotions during the week like 50% off.

I live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and there are no LFS or groups that have decent coral within driving distance so I'm force to order online.

The above post posted twice and I can't figure out how to delete this post.

Also look at packs from wwc and vivid. Both qualify for free shipping. Dont get to pick the specific corals but do get to pick the types included.
