My fuge light is going out so I figured it's time for a replacement. I'm saving up for my next build so I'm trying to get the best bang for buck on nutrient export. That's why I want to stay away from a CFL or par32 bulb.

I am considering the Growstar and CF Light grow lights. I have seen both used by reefers here with good results. Can anyone give me their opinions?

I'm looking for a way to not light my office up pink :) My sump section is open.

This is the best light I have ever come across. It beats about everything, even my hundreds of dollars kessil designed specifically for fuge. Only thing that can beat it are my Radions.

This is very interesting. I find it odd that this would outperform dedicated horticulture lights, designed for maximum yields of weed.

I can give it a try for sure although I had more of an all in one fixture in mind. It's cheap enough for sure.

It should be noted that I am hoping to use this new light with the Triton Method.

The performance on this thing is insane. I can't really believe it...

I am also open to spending around $100. I'm thinking the viparspectra might be a more powerful choice.

I'm telling y'all... get the $26 one on Amazon. This coming from a tank with easily over $10k in equipment and using a $26 fuge light because it works. I use the same light in my coral QT annnnd to grow my phyto.

Should I just stick in a clip on lamp?

I want to buy this as soon as I set up a fuge... I have the space in the sump, just no clean chaeto yet.

I don't see the point in getting the full spectrum bulbs, would rather have the blue/red LEDs liek this one. That brand is sold at Home Depot so I trust it more than a random chinese brand, even though I know Home Depot can sell crappy products. They at least have "some" filter process and I assume quality control being associated with a big box.

But there's a lot of great ideas in this thread. The growstar 150w light might be a bit much lol.

Based on reviews and video on the tube...I used this light for my homemade HOB refugium. Light output is crazy bright for the size and price.
