Just added this 2 my tank and my blue tang now has HLLE, I was told the chemo-pure would do this, has anyone had this problem?

Whoa! I was expecting a small spot! How long after chemi-pure did you notice?
A week or so, he is the only one to get anything so far,in the last year he has had white spot 3 times but nothing for awhile now until this. I have 2 tanks and have put the chemo-pure in both, water looks great, phos is down but not sure about this

Been using it for years and did not have any issue with the fishes in my tank. I have several different kind of tangs too. In the past I used a ground probe to eliminate the electrical charges as it was a thing to do back then, but I learned to keep an eye on the fish I buy, some has the hole in the head from the beginning. It can also be almost anything in our small containers compare to the wide ocean out there.

I have had him for other a year,he has grown heaps and he is the only one like this, wondering if i should take chemo-pure out or not??

I would pull it out. The Blue tang (Paracanthurus hepatus) is high my sensitive to skin disease. I have seen Blue tangs that where horrible looking.

At the risk of asking a stupid question, would would be in chemi-pure that could cause that? I have chemi-pure blue in my nano, but it is still fishless.

some people say the carbon can cause problems some say no,just need to now if anyone else use this with blue tangs, i have yellow and sail fin nothing on them

I do. Like I said no issues. I even had tangs heal hlle in my tanks. I would pull it just in case there was a contaminate and do a large wc. Also try getting the tang some fresh marine foods.

I don't see how CPE would have done this. I have been using it religiously in my 4 nano tanks for 3.5 years with only positive experiences. I have also kept a hippo tang for 1 year with no problem.

Looking at your tank it looks very established, No SB? What is the reason for putting it into your tank? CPE is not a miracle additive... Meaning if you have a nutrient problem, throwing in CPE will only cover up the underlying problem.

I put it in because i struggled with phos all the time and had a pink hairy problem and no one could tell me what it was, I put the chemo-pure in.....water looks beautiful and clear and within 12 hours the hair i had putted out of my tank every for a year was almost gone

beside chemi-pure, did you use the carbon as well. I have used chemi-pure mix with carbon for years and I did not have any problem.

ive used both in my tanks for years with every tang imaginable and never had a problem
blue tangs have a history of looking at them funny and they come down with something.
i would first look at water and then nutrition and provide vitamin suppliments with food and make sure your feeding him veggies
