Chemiclean 20% Water Change - Why

I'll update this thread as OP. I'm sure Chemiclean can have its uses, but I ended up resolving my issues via alternate means. I haven't had any nuisance algae at all for about 8 months now. Not doing anything crazy except macro algae in the fuge and skimming. What ended up fixing most of my algae woes was simply beefing up my clean up crew and diversifying it a bit (adding Emeralds, more hermits, etc).

The skimmer pulls out about 10% of the water before it’s controlable. Probably something to do with it
