Cherry Bomb

Boom-1319.jpg

Another similar one (not actually cherry bomb)

No offense but missing 3 colors that the cherry bomb has lol

Bought this as TGC Cherry Bomb but I’m having serious doubts. Anyone had their cherry bomb look like this before? It grows really fast, colors just seem way off.

I've had my TGC Cherry Bomb for about 6 months. Yesterday, I noticed a band of polyps along the bottom retracted. (The other side is full of polyps) Hope it's temporary. Anybody seen this happen?

Color is definitely wrong for cherry bomb it looks more like a Walt Disney.. Was it from a reputable vendor ?

I agree color does not look right. I got my WD from the same person and it’s right next to this piece. They’re similar but WD polyps are bright yellow and more pink on corallites

I would dip or cut off the Rtn if it progresses.
Not sure if I would consider it RTN. I can still see some withdrawn polyps (which is why I'm hoping they will open up again).

Some of the variables I'm considering:
1) Current may have been too strong. ( I reduced flow a little on Echotechs)
2) Alk creeped up a little recently: 8.4 to 8.9
3) NO3 creeped up over past month: from about 10 to 17-20. This seems to have coincided with me adding 3" sand to my tank about 2 mo ago. (Chaeto keeps dying; adding more tomorrow); Also, starting ZeoStart and ZeoFood.
-(PO4 have been consistent: 0.06- 0.09)
-Halide/T5

This has been an incredibly hardy coral. Polyps have been extended nicely since Day 1, (despite all my problems with elevated Tin and losing lots of new SPS frags because of that).
