Hi everyone,
I'm going to buy a chevron tang tomorrow from a fellow hobbyist and had a few questions regarding acclimating him. His nitrates and salinity are 0 and 1.026 while my nitrates are around 7 and salinity is 1.029. My salinity is only night for now because my aTO hasn't come in the mail yet. The nitrates will only be dealt with and brought back to zero once I get my new sump up and running(old one cracked). So my question is if I acclimate him for 45 minutes with a steady fast drip will this change be too much or should I try and bring the salinity down some more tonight and tomorrow. There's only two very hardy clowns and no coral in the tank.

Thanks all that can help!

Try and bring it down a bit before you get him her , the less stress for the fish the better

Thank and will do. It's a 70 gallon tank and I'm going to incrementally add a gallon to the tank over tonight and tomorrow. Will the nitrates be a problem?

He said his ph is between 8.2-8.3 and mine is 8.1-8.2(more towards 8.2) should this be ok

Jack, let us know how it goes. Chevron's are beauties

acclimating him now!!! He really is gorgeous. The guy also threw in a Kenya and and mushrooms! Great guy!!

Salinity was off so I had to acclimate for awhile... hope he's ok! But now I have him in a tub sitting for 15 minutes in the tank to adjust to temp

He's hiding in the rock work now, I'll let you all know how he's doing tomorrow when he comes out!

Just got home and he's still hiding, he's out a little more but hiding. I put a algae strip in there and he doesn't seem to even go towards it, should I be worried

Will do... I was trying to get a good look at him for ick and noticed a extremely slim white line across the top of his back fin. I'm not 100% sure that I saw it but it looked like it could have been. Should I be worried if there is something there?

Red nori is your fiend with these guys. Post pic of what you're talking about on fin. My guess is that it's no big deal

There's nori in the tank now but he's showing now interest. I have it right in front of the cave he's hiding in. And I can't get am good pic because he's in a dark cave and very hard to see. I'll try and get one tomorrow or later tonight though if he decides to come out. Also should I leave the nori in over night and the the kessil light on about 2% all blue
