Chrysophytes - Any predators for removal?

what if it is done outside?

What are the options for "bleach the rock, soak in hypersaline water"
I personally wouldn't recommend it still.

For bleaching the rock, you would put it in a bucket of bleach mixed with water, let it sit for a while, pull it out, air dry it for 24+ hours, then rinse it off.

For soaking in hypersaline (very, very salty) water: soak the rock in the hypersaline water for a while, pull it out, rinse it off, and I'd let it air dry for 24+ hours for good measure.

Exposure to air or injecting with vinegar (sparingly) will stop this in its tracks
Vinegar dosing the tank will also kill off the sponge but is safe for corals/fish?

If vinegar dosing will only kill off the sponge what is the protocol?

vinegar used in hobby to reduce nitrates safely with fish and coral and is generally dosed at 15-20ml per 100 gals
Most syringes have a ML scale on them

This (dosing instead of rock removal) will kill off the sponge? Is there a time period dosing can be done? ex once a day for x days? How long before the sponge dies off?

My wife in an RN, we have plenty of syringes laying around. We probably have vinegar laying around I can start tonight.

I did it every other day over 6 days. It will take a few days for sponge to shrink . Star with one application and assure sponge is responding (shrinking down to nothing)

Thank you. Off to find the vinegar. I like this option I do not have to remove the zoa's/paly's and if it works it seems like it will kill it all off, in between the zoas etc.

Will this work @vetteguy53081

My nitrates are a little high so this is good.

@vetteguy53081 I am on the third dose, day 5,a and have not seen the sponge recede. Should I extend the dosing or does it take a few days after the last dose to recede? Thanks in advance.

Day 1 dose
Day 2 no dose
Day 3 dose
Day 4 no dose
Day 5 dose

it should have weakened and you may be able to lift and peel it up and off

@vetteguy53081 OK, so submerged in tank water in a bucket or similar. Brush off with toothbrush? Scrape off with dental tools? Run pure vinegar or hot water over the encrusting sponge? None of the above, something else?

Inject with vinegar while exposed to air/
