#reefsquad #Reefsquadleaders @Randy Holmes-Farley

I was cleaning my 50g reservoir with 50g of tap water, and a cup and a half of citric acid.

Stupid me the darn dos was still on for auto water changes.....

It Dosed about 5 liters of it into display before I noticed....

What do I do

I added a poly filter just now to one of my socks and fresh carbon in reactor

Yup water change. Im not sure but check your alkalinity and watch out for a bacterial bloom. Keep things circulating for an o2 drop. Check and monitor ph.

My ph dipped to 7.43. Has since bounced back to 7.6 and climbing.

I put airline outside to my skimmer right now to help

Making 40g of water right now

Check ph and sg.
If they are within range I would do nothing.
A little over a gallon of it in your 220+ system probably did not have much of an impact.
WC cant hurt though.
Dipped to 7.43. Back to 7.64 currently

How does the tank look?
Ph will come up and wc will help.
I did not tighten the nut on my 10lb co2 tank and it dumped the whole tank at night into the air.
Their was a puddle of liquid co2 in my cabinet.
Tank dropped to 7.4 and I opened the windows and it came back with no issues in a couple hours.

Tank looks fine. Ph dipped and orp rose. I'm currently at the mercy of my RO. I can't do water change because I ran out of water and sg is 1.029...***. thought there was more water in upper reservoir, should have added salt after...ugh.....Just one of those days.....

Ya I'm in Waterloo. But man that's super nice, what a gesture. Unfortunately I have my daughter in bed so can't run out. I'm just at the mercy of my RODI.

You added an acid to your tank, the pH drop is not surprising. It probably was buffered by your tank. That should have some effect on your alkalinity which would be the most likely reason for toxicity if any occurs . Watch your alkalinity closely for a few days, you may have to alter your normal dosing a little.

Just tested trident and Hanna again.

Hanna says 7.7
Trident 7.31?

Not sure what to believe.

I tested Hanna three times and were all 7.7

Im doing a 50g wc shortly

I'm so angry with myself right now :(
