its been short a period of time for it to be food I think. Light acclimation could be a prob. The original prob may be it was just getting used to the tank, Im trying to find the good acclimating a clam article. Are you feeding phytoplankton?
You have to feed it phytoplankton. I'm thinking that's your problemNo i am not. Should I? I thought they were getting most out of the lighting and a bit from filter feeding. Could've read miss information.
I'll be the first to say that the clam is going to die. Very rarely will they ever bounce back once they start gaping. Not feeding phyto for the couple days it's been in your tank (even not feeding at all) is not the worst thing in the world.
For what it's worth, that's not a Maxima, it's a Tear Drop. They used to call them Tear Drop Maximas, but they have reclassified them as a totally separate species. It really is too bad that it's not doing good because they are beautiful specimens.
I wish there was some advice to be given.
