Cleaner Wrasse

Hey Geohawk,

How much do they stress tangs out? (I am just concerned that a fish going nuts eating off my tang could cause it to stress out and catch ich)

Mine will pester any fish the size of a tang or butterfly all day long. I actually attribute it to the death of my copper band butterfly. After getting the cleaner it would chase my copper band around the tank all day even if it had a belly visibly full of food. My poor CBB would began hiding all day and only coming out at night. It died soon after. If I were to decide to get a tang or butterfly again I would sell my wrasse. He is just super aggressive. It is most likely just mine though. I love the fish though and really enjoy watching it cruise around the tank. I also feel lucky to have one that eats so well.

Hmm so could possibly endanger my tang? I love him and already have a wrasse so If he picks on him hed have to go. The barrel chested wrasse isn't considered "reef safe" but does just fine in my tank, and il goto LFS and make sure eating prepaired for sure.

I think there's a cleaner wrasse that's a medium sized fish and then there's a Red Sea Cleaner Wrasse that's small. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

You say you're worried about your tang being stressed out by the cleaner wrasse When I first Bought him Only had a few fish and one was a yellow tang Cleaner wrasse does not harass any of my fish the fish come to him not the other way round and has always done this from Day one
