Razor is a no no for acrylic. Unless you like the scratched tank look:bigsmile:. For acrylic I found that the credit card is best especially if you have the curved corners.
One you try mightymagnets and their pads you will never go back. The algae dozer pad works great on coraline (acrylic safe). I've been using it on my acrylic tank for a while now. I am sure Richard (wishntobeoutside) can vouch to how well it works (he saw it in action). I use the Super Algae Cutter Sock for everything else.
I used a razor blade on the glass tank and I cleaned the entire tank in 10 minutes. The credit card on the acryllic is much more difficult. So far, I've spend about 3 hours and cleaned about 1/4 of the tank front.
WOOT! Glad you all like the razor blade! The first time I used one I couldn't believe how easy it was to clean the tank. Like Butter Baby!
I usually remove the blade and rinse the scraper in fresh water. You can rinse the blade and dry it and use it again, but I usually trash them. I just buy replacement blades cheap.
yeah i couldnt believe it. i started on the back glass where i usually have such a tough time. and it just came off, with literally no effort. it was Amazing !
