ThanksI wouldn’t use any chemicals… if your water is cloudy it’s most likely a bacterial bloom.. coral snow or carbon is much safer than chemical.
ThanksDon't put that in your tank.
I second that my water is crystal i run bothIf you really want clear water, invest in a mildly oversized uv sterilizer. My water is almost crystal clear now. Once it starts to cloud again, change the bulb. Also a good skimmer can really help with water clarity as can running carbon/purigen. I wouldn't use a chemical agent.
That's totally fair. Yellow? UV, skimmer, and carbon will all help. Cloudy? UV and skimmer but not carbon would help. Free floating detritus? Filter socks or fleece roller would helpUnderstand why your water is cloudy before treating (by any means for it). Is it cloudy, is it yellow, is it free floating detritus... So many options and so many wrong potential solutions.

Microbacter7 has worked really well for me, for water clarity. I was using it for something else and it was an added bonus.
I assume you are talking about this? It's a 90 gallon tank with a skimmer and reefmat 500.Microbacter7 has worked really well for me, for water clarity. I was using it for something else and it was an added bonus.
I guess this what you use? The water isn't yellow, just cloudy. I have a reefmat 500, redsea skimmer,Carbon and calcium reactors. 90 gallon tank and 10 gallon water change once a week. Been doing only frozen food once a day.Microbacter7 has worked really well for me, for water clarity. I was using it for something else and it was an added bonus.
Do you have a pic of the tank? Running your skimmer a bit wetter may help. UV sterilizer will completely clarify it. Usually cloudy means either very fine particulate but most often bacteriaI assume you are talking about this? It's a 90 gallon tank with a skimmer and reefmat 500.

Can you send a link of what you have or recommend? Thanks. If you really want clear water, invest in a mildly oversized uv sterilizer. My water is almost crystal clear now. Thank you so much. Some are recommending a uv light. New at this so getting help from seasoned guys is very helpful.Just get a bottle of Loudwolf Calcium Carbonate for less than $10 and some RODI water and make your own coral snow. Works great and makes water crystal clear.

I believe UV is ok if you have a relatively new tank with a low bioload whether it be corals and fish or just fish. But if you have a mature tank with a good population of growing SPS or LPS colonies I believe UV would do more harm than good by killing a lot of good stuff in the water, beneficial bacteria, pods, etc that would otherwise benefit the tank.Thank you so much.
