I know its an older tank, but do you make covers for a jbj 14 g frag tank? I only saw the bigger jbj tanks listed. Thanks.

ArtFully Acrylic, first off fantastic job on these lids! There's a resounding love for them shown on the forum and you're the reason I've joined R2R here today. On your product page for the Red Sea Reefer 250 ClearView Lid under Questions and Answers it says What is the premium lid option? A: Hello! The standard lid is made of 1/4" polycarbonate, whereas the the premium lid is made of 3/8". As a result of the thicker lid, the premium enjoys a narrower frame width and beveled edges as well.

Looking around I can't seem to find a way to upgrade to the premium 3/8" polycarbonate. Is this a special order situation or *shudder* no longer available?

Still looking at 4-6 weeks. The time is really made up of working with each tank owner to make sure the lid has everything needed for their specific setup. Every light, power cord, auto feeder, on and on is accounted for and measured. Programming and working with each customer to get it perfect takes a while but the end result is fantastic. We are working very hard to get the wait down and speed things up.

Yep we can. If a tank isn't listed just go to the custom lid section, punch in your measurements and it will give you the lid size you need to make your purchase.

Sorry that's is old. We went ahead and make it a standard feature that all lids are made with the 3/8" poly.

Not trying to derail the thread, but...

I love it. Super easy to use and every Reefsicle releases food randomly. The hardest part is remembering to freeze the block. I may order a 2nd just to have 2 blocks and enough trays for half a month.

My lid is ready for molding apparently, woo! Before confirming design I wanted to see if anyone had any tips or things they would have done different. I started a red sea reefer 250 for my first tank a couple months ago and so far only have the light mounts that would need cutouts. The only other thing in the DT is a small temp probe which will fit in the light cutouts. In the future I may add apex for monitoring but would presumably put the probes in the sump, powerheads are vortech so no cords inside for them. I'm debating getting a cord cutout just in case but can't think of what I'd need it for at this point. No auto feeder planned but I'm assuming spectrum pellets will make it through the mesh if I need to set up a simple rotating one for a weekend or something. Went with the locking door for added security which I know some people don't love the design of but doesn't seem to be a big issue.

Anything you can think of that I'm not? Thanks in advance!

I would definitely get little cutouts for cords such as power heads.

Everyday! Its how I get food into the tank, and occasionally flip over snails.

I take the lid off once a week to scrape the glass, and fiddle with things, but otherwise, there isnt a whole lot of room elsewhere to put things in the tank. Maybe if you had a really small tank you could just take off the lid instead of having a feed door, but on my tank its a pain - particularily if you have to line up the powerhead cables in the notches upon putting it back on.

I have the innovative marine 30 long. However I don't want to be taking the lid on and off, I was thinking I could just drop food through the mesh though.

While you could do that, I find that food can get stuck to the mesh (which is pleasantly clear) and can cause discoloration and general gross-ness. In a pinch, that works fine. The mesh also collects little droplets of water that cause the food to stick to it. But that's just my opinion and observation
