Just my 2 cents. I bought a tsunami for my reefer 350 less than a year ago. I don't have a sagging issue, but all of the joints have started to crack and etch. I contacted them and they very rudely told me that i didn't take care of my lid and salt creep caused it. OK........ my bad, but no one told me? Sounds like a design flaw considering we're dealing with reef tanks???

But honestly, I don't believe that was the issue. I remove my lid once a week to clean my tank and I do wipe down the lid. The weight of the lid puts a lot of strain on all of the joint pieces. You can see it when you remove it. IF I were to do it over with clearview, I would definitely go with classic. Based on my experience with tsunami, I am not at all surprised that ppl are seeing sagging with the EXO. The engineering doesn't make sense and the plastic doesn't hold up.

Again, just my opinion. Waste of $300.
Yikes.....I totally understand. Those lids aren't cheap plain and simple. You might want to try contacting them again. Don't Give up! That's 300.00....I
didn't give up. Finally the owner called me and things were taken care of. Another thing I want to add to anyone with this lid or getting this lid.....try to not remove the lid as much as possible. Also if you do have to remove it lay it flat on your floor. Just my two cents....

Wow that's strange as they replaced two of my tsunami lids that has cracks at joints without fuss. They let me pay the difference and upgrade to the classic which I did since I was worries about a repeat issue.

Wow really?

So weird because I was super nice and didn't throw a fit at all. I thought that if I was reasonable that they would be reasonable. They did offer me 20% off but it was only on the lid and didn't include anything off cut outs or shipping. Ended up be $260+ and I just couldn't justify it considering my experience.

I don't know. When I asked for more, the owner Adam said it was my fault and he felt he was already being very generous with the discount.

I don't know where customer service has went. *Sigh* Work is stressful enough. I don't need drama in a hobby that I'm supposed to be enjoying.

Hmm yeah I posted the photos in their forum here asking about the cracks and they replaced them.

Here is the thread:

Omg thank you! It blankly states that they admitted to a faulty design. My cracks are exactly where everyone's other pictures show. My lid was purchased back in December 2018 so definitely falling into gen 1 time period.

Now I don't know what to think..... You should have seen the email they sent me making me feel like an irresponsible tank lid owner.

I guess making it known on the forum is really the only way to get the proper customer service these days? How sad.

I'll email them again. Thank you again!!

They let me pay the difference to upgrade to a classic lid. I like it a lot more than the tsunami. I recommend doing that if they let you.

I really hope they allow me to do the same. I wouldn't go with the tsunami again. I emailed them yesterday. We'll see if they get back to me

Alright, well first thing this morning I got a one sentence reply.... "You do not have a first gen Tsunami."

Doesn't look like they are going to stand behind what they said in Tamberav's thread. My gut is telling me that this is happening too often and they no longer can afford to offer everyone that this is happening to a replacement at a heavily discounted rate.

Yeah about the thread....I started it not to bash Clearview, but to share my experience and was curious if others had similar issues with their kids and what resolution they received from Clearview. I purposely did not put it in the vendor because I wanted to deal with the company directly, and not publicly where everyone could see our back and forth.

I will say I did ask to pay the difference for the original lid, but they didn't go for that. He did offer to fix my lid plus add the XL feed door free of charge. I felt that was fair. When he couldn't fix my lid he built a new Tsunami lid with the feed door.

As another poster mentioned....it is possible too many people are having issues, and as a small company they can't afford to replace so many lids!?? I dunno.....but I totally understand the frustration. These kids aren't cheap.

Shooooot. I placed my lid order like 65 days ago. Its suppose to be done In like a week. I ordered the exo with 2 doors on 46" tank. Now I'm terrified
You will have to let us know how you like it. I would love to see pics if it!

Ok sounds like they made it right. I actually ordered mine with the XL feed door so im glad you find it useful
Yeah they did. I was really nice and cordial and patient with them. It all worked out. I would have loved the original and I pay the difference, but he wasn't going to allow that.....so I get it!

You will love the feed door! Absolutely worth it!!!! Let us know how you like it!

Yea I'll let you know but will say I'm nervous after this thread
I understand! I was glad and relieved to get my lid replaced and back on my tank. I was using a large window screen for a couple of weeks in the meantime! LOL!

Wow. I have been eyeing clearview lids for. Couple of months and couldn’t pull the trigger due to costs. I will be keeping an eye to see if you get service from this company.
Spending that much they should be taking care of you ASAP! Good luck
I just bout a $50 DYI
That seems to do okay but I’m
Sure I will have to find something that has cleaner lines! I

Well, here is the thread to the results:

I am very grateful to people like @SandJ and @TheHarold to confirm that what I'm asking for, expecting, and saying is not completely unreasonable. Both are looking into Safetoplids. I will do the same when I can.

Safetop is legit. Awesome. But when I was looking for one he was on hold as he was moving shops and didnt have a estimated date and was still back ordered like heck. Otherwise I would have went with safetop
