That is definitely a C. solorensis, clown fairy wrasse.

As OrionN posted, C. lubbocki, Bali varianr is tricolor wrasse.

Common names are horrible sometime for ID/discussion purposes. We never know what somebody decided what to call some of the animals.

Eatbreakfast, thanks for the clarification. 2 or 3 stores locally list them as tricolors. I have never kept the fairy wrasse subspecies. Closest thing to these has been the 6 line or cleaner back in the day. Other wrasse ive kept were not invert safe.

We have both wrasses and get along well. Also have a flame wrasse with them. All fine together and very pretty in the reef!
Do not get a lime green wrasse! No reef safe and is a huge nuisance and mean.
Get both the flasher wrasse and the clown fairy! Lov them both..

Does anyone know what this fairy wrasse is? We were told Joanne’s fairy wrasse but I can’t find the real name. Didn’t get along well with my Lubbock fairy at first but now stays on opposite side of tank. Both very small in a 93 cube.

The color looks right for a C. joanallenae, but also right for a number of fairy wrasses, include other fairy wrasse in the rubriventralis complex. Details of the fish is lost in your picture. Better picture or look at pictures of fairy wrasses in this complex. They have spike dorsal ray(s) and large, elongated pelvic fins as the common characteristic.
