Hey guys.
I bought 2 occellaris clownfish and 2 blue green chromis on sunday and a hermit .
I did a 20% water change a week before i bought the livestock.
My chromis are eating well ,the clownfish are only eating pellets and brine shrimp freeze dried cubes.

Yesterday afternoon i noticed a bump on the side of my clowns head . Looks black under the skin .

I dont have any corals as yet .

My parameters are -
Temp: 27.5
Salinity : 1.026
Ph :8.2
Ammonia : 0
Nitrite : 0
Nitrate : 2

Here is a picture

Hard to tell from the picture. Any chance you can get a closer one. Was the growth there when you got the fish or has it developed over time? I'm not a disease expert by any means but @melypr1985 @Humblefish @eatbreakfast or @3FordFamily should be able to help.

Its hard to get a closer picture as everytime he gets close im at the wrong angle. I only noticed it 4 days after buying the clown , my 2 chromis and 1 clown is doing fine , its just the one with the problem. It looks more of a fungus than a growth

I did do a 25% water change yesterday and a 10% a week ago

Hard to tell from the ppic on my phone, but could be either Lymphocystis or fungal. In either case improving water quality is the best course of action.

I"m going to agree with this based on the picture... but I"m leaning more towards fungal. When humble get's back on he'll be more definitive of course. In the case of these two things though, feed well and add a vitamin supplement to the food to help bolster the fish's immune system. Keep the water quality pristine during this too. Doing these things no matter what wont hurt you or the fish, so do this until humble comes along to help out, then you'll only being making things better.

He is eating well , pellets i feed him has garlic in . I will be getting garlic guard to soak food in

Garlic isn't a vitamin, it's only a tool to entice a fish that's not eating to eat. You'll want something like Selcon to add to the food. (there are others, but it's the only one I can think of lately for some reason)

Im in south Africa so i dont know if we have the same brands as you guys

Fungal infections are very rare in SW fish. Also, "black under the skin" does not line up with Lymphocystis.

My best guess is it is a bacterial infection from an injury. To the OP: Do you have a QT?

What kind of meds/vitamin supplements do you have access to? Can you provide me a link to where you buy fish supplies so I can make some recommendations?
