So I have a pair of clowns and and they both have like white stuff over their one eye as well as one (I don't really know how to describe it) but almost looks like his scaled peeled right behind one of his fins.

I've been trying to diagnose but I can't seem to find what I am looking for. The only reason I am so puzzled is that its been 2 weeks and the behaviour of the clowns are normal. Water paramters are also normal.

I am wondering if it's just some sort of bacterial infection or ammonia burn I have really no idea. It's hard to get a pic of it.

One has one spec on his eye and white string of something under him that I just noticed now. The other has more white stuff on one side of his face/around his eye.

They both aren’t showing and crazy behavior other than one shaking near the other to be accepted.

Is there any chance you can get pics without the blues? That'd be much clearer and easier for us to see what we're looking at

It’s really hard to see with the light off honestly. These pics look better on my phone

If there's a stringy substance hanging off and white film then I'm guessing brooklynella.

Do you have a qt?
I do not have a qt. I was told that it couldn't be brooklynella as they would've already been dead by now

I just finished treating 3 clowns that were exposed to brook about a year ago. They never showed symptoms in their original tanks or qt. I moved 2 of them to what was meant to be their permanent home and symptoms popped up overnight. I believe some fish can absolutely fight it off longer than others or even build temporary resistance. @Humblefish also has a friend who's clowns showed symptoms after a tank transfer. Once a stressful event occurred, in both cases a tank transfer, the fish "all of a sudden" showed signs again.

It's hard for me to really see what's going on in the pics but, based on your description, I'd lean towards brook. It could be a nasty infection. Is there any way you can get a pic with just white lights?

And who told u that? The guy u bought them from? Any other fish in the tank? The tank looks new... How old is it, and did u cycle it completely before adding the clowns? And please turn the whites up for future pics. Blues make it darned near impossible to diagnose an issue.

^^^^ +1 on Brooklynella :(

This appears to be early stage Brook to me. Pics are hard to see but from what I can see, that's my initial diagnosis.

Highly recommend setting up a QT tank and starting with metroplex or a medication that contains metronidazole. Brook can kill quickly, but with it just starting to show up you still have time to treat properly.

You will want to treat all of your fish and allow your DT to be fallow for 6 weeks to rid it of Brook. You may take the safer route of 76 days to be sure it's completely clear.

someone from this forum told me that. He said it was probably a bacterial infection because of normal behaviour and the fact its been this long.

+1.

I'd also be ready with either kanaplex and furan-2 or, if you can get your hands on it, NFG powder for a possible secondary infection. That's exactly what happened to me when I fought brook. An infection can be just as deadly as the parasite infestation itself.

the issue is i don't have a qt. I am new to the hobby... and most likely don't have the funds for one

Do you just have the 2 clowns?

You can QT them in a 10gallon.

Prob find a complete setup on Craiglist used for 20 bucks.

Or buy everything you need new for 50 bucks.

You can setup a basic qt for relatively cheap. Even a Rubbermaid tub with an hob filter, a heater, and a small powerhead will work.

Where are you from? If you're near DC-Baltimore area I can help you with a setup. If not, try the regional forums and see if you can't get some help locally
