I'll have to take back the media still going strong. Looking at todays logs it's starting to drop off the cliff.
It's gone from the ~250ppm range to ~400ppm pretty quick in the last 24 hours, and the media is pretty solid purple at this point. I'll do a data dump tomorrow and change the media.
I do want to do another test, but I'll have to gather some equipment and do some programming as time permits. But my pH has been hitting pretty close to 8.6 every day. As a good average I'm above 8.4 for 12 hours of the day and don't go below 8.3. I think the 8.3 to 8.4 is a pretty solid range. So I want to do a test with a 2 way 3 port solenoid that is pH controlled. When pH hits 8.3 run air through the reactor. When ph hits 8.4 run air from ambient just out of the skimmer. In essence have a pH controlled Co2 reactor. Right now I'm getting almost two months out of the media, if that can be extended by say 50%, thats a huge cost savings on media every year, for not a huge cost in monitoring and control.
I might as well tie this into apex and send alerts if the outlet CO2 gets above ~400ppm as an alert to change the media. At this point there really is no need for two sensors, really only need one on the outlet side. But I already printed the new enclosures....so might as well.
