One last equipment question for you guys today! I just got a scrubber and soda lime. Can someone tell me exactly where the inlet and outlets go? In videos I see people attaching one to the top of the silencer, but I do not have a nipple there. Pic of the silencer attached.

Sorry. Pic is now attached.

I left it open, it's just drawing in air. You could run a hose to wherever you want.

Yup, the co2 canister acts as a large silencer so I removed the skimmer silencer.

I can't even hear the air draw from my skimmer unless I open the stand doors.

My co2 media lasts 11-14 days per canister usually before solid purple. Lately it's not doing as much since it's been brutally hot and we keep doors closed, windows closed and AC running 24/7. When we could open the windows here and there along with the scrubber the ph hung out around 8.4. Now I'm lucky if it hits 8.1 WITH the scrubber

Buy scrubber from dive gear express. The bulk reef supply scrubber is the same as rebreather scrubber but more expensive.

You'll be glad to hear about shopmedvet.com then. Their 5 gallon 44# bucket is the same size as the one from dive gear, but also is color changing and only like $95 as opposed to $145 on dive gear

I have 2 scrubbers on my 400g total system. I change one out every 2 weeks alternating. So every week I have fresh media. Each one lasts 2 weeks before turning mostly purple.

Does anyone have a pic of what the used media looks like? I mean less then two days and it's purple already. Seems crazy

I have four hooked up to my skimmer. I know it sounds crazy but the silencer has two inlets and I want to use them both.
