CO2 Scrubber

I made a post about my media lasting less than a day a few post ago. I stuck my input tube in a 5 gallon bucket full of water (the tube is right above the water line) to make sure there was enough humidity and it has increased how long the media last substantially. I replaced the media Saturday morning and today it has barely even turned purple.

I'm using the exact one and it's only lasting 1 day!!
Ok I'm absolutely sure it's just that brand of soda lime that's the problem. I used that brand and it was exhausted overnight.

I've now been using intersorb plus for a day now and it's less than 1% exhausted.

I got a full 30 days out of my last batch of cdx with outside air going thru cdx to the skimmer intake.

I have to re up as my alk is slowly getting higher now that my ph is lower.
Sorry if I already asked this, but what skimmer are you running? I wish I could get 30 days out of one canister. I actually just bought a second one to enable a full month without switching out media! Why is your pH dropping?

How is it looking today? I sometimes notice extra comsuptions on some days (probably from having the doors closed/people over). A five gallon bucket should last you pretty much forever! I have been contemplating running the airline into my sump area because it's sectioned off and I noticed it was slightly humid in there (after sticking my head in to check on something).

Regal 170int

Ph is dropping cause cdx is spent

More purple but I think I will get a week out of it. Much better than the 1 day I was getting before adding some humidity. I will for sure try a different media next time. I may be adding to MUCH humidity now, I am getting a lot of condensation in the air line. I have noticeable growth since adding it though.

Honestly I'd say condensation in the airline is fine and maybe even desireable. As long as you aren't getting it in the canister, you're good to go!

It's super noisy because there is so much condensation. It makes a gargling noise because of the water build up in the tube. I have been turning off the skimmer a couple times a day for a few seconds to let it all drain back out.

Ordered some CDX, should be here in a few days. I gave up on it because after my last post, it turned purple in less then 48 hours again.
I'm interested in if it's going to make a difference! I'm pretty sure @bubbaque is still have problems with media not lasting very long, so maybe it's time to follow suit and try a different one!

Here is my latest attempt at increasing the media life! We will see how it goes!

Are you running two to try to extend the media life?

Yeah, trying to extend media life and time in between changes. I predicted going from two weeks with one canister to five weeks with two, and things are actually looking pretty good. The first one has been entirely purple for over a day now and the second hasn't even started to turn. This may end up extending the time significantly longer.

So I got the CDX yesterday and as of today it still appears white. The canister is tinted and I could really shine a light on it to make sure, but it still does look white.

I keep it around 8.2
Why even scrub??

Be careful if u have a lot of sps corals ur uptake for alk and calcium is going to go on a rollercoaster ride. I was as high as 25ml a day and when the cdx was exhausted I'm down to 18ml
