Cobalt C-VUE 40 Build

I'm waiting to set mine up and getting my QT's up in running after being on a 10 year reef break. I'm contemplating the 9004 for a skimmer for it, but keep getting mixed reviews.

My replacement stand should be here today hopefully, the first one arrived mangled.

Hi! I'm new to the forum and I stumble on this awesome build. I am doing the same 40g cobalt aquatics built until my buddy decided to sell his red sea reefer 350 to me. Now my build is up for sale. If I dont get a buyer I will just continue my build and keep both tank. Hehe!(I hope the wife wont kill me!) Heres a photo of my current tank setup. Theres no water yet.

Well did it come today in good condition? I cant give any feedback on the tunze, it is still young and breaking in. Fairly on the quiet side tho.

I use to have a red sea reefer 350, if I were u I would def choose the 350 over the cvue 40. Or fill the 40 up and get some fish in there so that it has to stay too!

This was the last pictures I have of my biocube 29 before selling it in August. I had the tank up for prob 4 months and then sold it before my wedding. Hope to have some nice pieces again in this new system

This was my red sea reefer 350. I should have never let this tank go and let it be. I wanted sps so I sold all my beautifuk lps, which I regret. This was my first time keeping sps and I def learned how to brown them out [emoji6].

then I wanted a bigger tank so I got a 200 gallon system and sold the red sea.

That meant more equipment, but unfortunately that also meant my electrical/gas bill was averaging around 450$ a month

After a short few months I got tired of all the money I was spending and downsized to the biocube 29. I only had a handful of corals left over after saleing pretty much everything off the 200 gallon system.

4 months go by, I buy nice frags but get overwhelmed with having a wedding and not wanting to worry about a reef tank while on my honeymoon. Take a break and now I'm here. This system will not be rushed with irritational decision making like my last few systems. I plan on taking it slow, let the tank mature and slowly add fish and sticks.

Sadly it came in damaged... Long story short, now have two damaged stands and got a partial refund. I'm going to just pull out some tools and get a template together to replace the board that is damaged with new material. A friend of mine who is helping me might be picking up the other damaged stand to see if he can fix it as well so he can setup a time for his classroom.

Lol. I wish I can do that. I dont have space for both tanks.

Not much to update on, just in the boring stages of starting up a tank. Waiting for a cycle and being patient not to rush and add livestock, cuc, or corals.

Any recommendations on snails?

Picture, cuz I'd rather be in maui instead of home.[emoji19]

What are you grabbing with it?!?!?!
I like to have grabbers to grab frags that get knocked off, snails that need to be flipped over, misc stuff.

But at this length I can grab anything. My wife is going to hate me

Organized the cabinet and wiring a little bit. Counting down the days to when I can get a clean up crew. Need some life In the tank!

Rite on, I really like the size of this tank so far. I've had big tanks, small tanks, u name it. But this 40g breeder size aio is my favorite. Are you going to be doing a build thread as well? I'll be posting a lot more when I get some livestock. Threw in a piece of shrimp yesterday to speed things up.

Yes, I hope to do one. I am very new to the hobby but after having success with the Biocube (wet Aug 2018) I decided that I needed a larger tank. I am finished with my stand and just need to decide on color and door style(1 or 2).

Great job on the stand. I went pretty simple on my door. Plywood with crown molding on the edges as u can see in some of the pics.
