I cut the feet that come with the light and used them as a rod to tie both lights together so that everything was inline.

Looks alright. Perhaps a floating canopy will be made in the future. Perhaps not. Only time will tell.

That’s an interesting tank, I like the filtration area, looks like there’s a little more room than some other tanks. I have an IM Lagoon 50 and I wish there was just a little more room back there. Yours looks a little wider. Following along.

Most likely my rock scape. Hopefully I will have it by Friday. All depends on UPS. I am having a hard time picturing what I want to do with my scape. Hopefully when the rock comes I can envision something fancy shmancy.

That’s an interesting tank, I like the filtration area, looks like there’s a little more room than some other tanks. I have an IM Lagoon 50 and I wish there was just a little more room back there. Yes indeed, Cobalt wanted to build an aio tank that could fit more equipment in the back. It is 4-5/8inch in the clear. The whole tank is 17-1/8" inside to inside. That leaves me only 12-1/2" of room for corals and scaping in the main display. Gunna be fun trying to configure a rockscape that can portray depth some how.

What drew me to this tank was price and the 36" width. I use to be a "cube" guy, but it's just too limiting on overall coral diversity with those little boxes.

I currently work in Santa Rosa myself as a Project Manager/Estimator for division 8 &10 construction.

You should see the traffic in the Novato Narrows now a days on the 101. It is awful! I worked in SF for 9 years and would take Atherton exit all the way out to the Washoe House in Cotati because it was faster and less annoying than that crap show they have made.

That narrow display area is challenging. I really like the 29x19.5 display area in my Lagoon but it comes at the cost of that narrow back area. I wanted the IM SR60 which is 36” wide and has a wider filtration area but 36” was too wide for the area where the tank goes. I think the key with a narrow tank is that less is more. I would try to use smaller rocks and keep it low. Let the coral provide the height and depth.
I used to live off of Alameda Del Prado in those condo style apartments across from Hamilton AFB. This was mid to late 90’s though, haven’t been through there in at least 12 years. I’m sure it’s changed a lot and I can’t imagine the traffic now, it was awful back then. I worked at Corte Madera Town Center after Santa Rosa and just getting from Novato to Corte Madera used to be bad. Couldn’t imagine slogging my way to SF everyday. Traffic is pretty bad here in Seattle and I’m in that everyday for hours ( I do outside sales ) but it feels better than Bay Area traffic did. I know every last backroad in the whole Puget Sound and I’ll go way out of my way to just not sit in gridlock even if I drive farther and it takes longer so I totally get the daily trip thru Cotati. RP to SR must be a lot nicer. More time to spend with your tank.

Got another package for the tank today. Nothing super exciting. It's a smart surge protector. It gives me the capability of turning off my pumps, skimmer, etc. On a phone app. That way I dont have to unplug cords everytime I do water changes. I do plan on getting a used apex in the future but not until I have fish and corals. This shall do for now.

I don’t remember RP being a place where it flooded much. Usually I would hear about flooding further north in those little towns along the Russian river. It’s been a pretty dry winter here in rainy old Washington so far and that doesn’t upset me at all.

Looks great so far! I cant wait to see this come to life! And I agree, less is more in narrow tanks. My nuvo 10 only has 12 inches of depth and heres what I did with it

Yes indeed, looks good. Thanks for the picture. They are always welcomed on my thread for anybody reading.

I agree with you and what @TheWB has said about keeping the rock scape simple, and also lower to let corals grow to the top.

I'm just gunna go with the flow at the time of scaping. I can decide what I think I want to do, but it really all comes down to what rocks are at hand and how well they jive.

I'm hoping to have this tank up and running by the end of next weekend or even this weekend. I have bought everything needed to start and test.

It floods enough to close some roads down for a day or two. Nothing too drastic. Enjoy that rare dry winter while you can. Rainy days are the norm where ur at!

Alright I think this will be good enough. This is going to be a sps tank, so the main goal is to have enough flat surface area to mount frags on. I kept the structures all at the halfway mark on the tank to give more room for coral growth up towards the light.

This carib sea rock is great, lots of holes for fish to camp out in and even swim threw.

I may mount a small magnet rock on the back middle to hold frags, and give a little more overall depth to the structure. I usually like my rock scape to be taller on one side but it's time to switch things up and go a little more subtle.

The last picture is extra rock. I'll just break it up and mount cyphastreas and leptoseris' to them on the sand bed in some places most likely.
